Sitges Beach

Sitges Beach is a series of beaches stretching along the Mediterranean. The white old town is built on the coastal slopes, with the Church of Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla standing on the headland at the end. Each bay on either side boasts its own beach, and a palm-lined promenade connects them into a walkable coastline. Most of the beaches here have fine sand, shallow water, and calm waves, making the near-shore area suitable for swimming. The section in the town center is the most popular: Ribera Beach has a wide sandy area, complete with beach chairs, showers, and beach bars; the water near the shore is shallow, making it suitable for children to play in. To the east, Sant Sebastià Beach offers a classic view of the church standing on the hilltop. Fragata Beach, at the foot of the church, has a sailing club where you can rent windsurfers, paddleboards, and kayaks, and people often play beach volleyball there. Walking a bit further along the coast, you can also find small coves surrounded by cliffs and nudist beaches. Sitges has an overall open and inclusive atmosphere and is a well-known, diverse-friendly vacation destination. At sunset, the silhouette of the church reflected on the golden sea is an iconic view of Sitges Beach.Sitges · 486m from downtown

Gothic Quarter

Gothic Quarter is the heart of Barcelona's old city and the birthplace of the city. Around the turn of the millennium, the Romans established the settlement of Barcino here; remnants of the Roman square city walls can still be identified on many street corners, while many buildings were constructed in the Middle Ages, forming the profound backdrop of this area. Strolling through it, the streets are intricately intertwined, and small squares and narrow alleys layer to create a deep medieval atmosphere. Several iconic squares in the area each have their own unique features. Plaça de Sant Jaume is the political center of Barcelona, with the City Hall (Casa de la Ciutat / Ayuntamiento) and the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya standing on either side. King's Square concentrates the Palau Reial Major, the Roman wall ruins, and the City History Museum; the museum's basement also preserves walkable ancient Roman street ruins. Placa Reial is famous for its symmetrical arcades and palm trees. The Cathedral of Barcelona is a representative work of Gothic architecture, with white geese kept in its inner courtyard, a legend related to the city's patron saint, Saint Eulalia. Pont del Bisbe is a neo-Gothic style covered bridge, with a skull and dagger decoration hidden beneath the arch. Hidden in a courtyard behind the cathedral, the Temple of Augustus ruins, with several Roman stone columns dating back over 2,000 years, are one of the important ancient Roman stone remains in Barcelona.Barcelona · 34.9 km from Sitges

Montjuic Hill is a wooded hill in the southwest of Barcelona and the city's central park, a great place for jogging and walking. Due to the high terrain, it is also a good place to overlook the panoramic view of Barcelona. Montjuic Hill Park has witnessed the occurrence of many major events in Barcelona. It was once the venue of the Universal Exposition in 1929, and became the main venue of the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. In the past 100 years, various festivals and activities have been successfully held for Barcelona. Thanks for the hard work. It is still possible to visit the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Museum. In addition, there are many famous museums and art galleries in Barcelona, among which the Miro Foundation, the National Art Museum of Catalonia, and the Spanish Village are all worth seeing.Barcelona · 32.6 km from Sitges

Mercat de la Boqueria is a public market with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. Today, under its iron-framed roof, you will find both local residents doing their daily shopping and tourists looking to experience the local atmosphere. The stalls inside are neatly and meticulously arranged, with fresh fruits and vegetables, Iberian ham, cheese, seafood, and candies spread out like an overturned palette. The deeper parts of the market are even more interesting. The seafood section displays sea urchins, red prawns, squid, and razor clams. You can have sea urchins opened and eaten raw on the spot, and some seafood stalls can even cook your purchase for you. The back area is home to many bar-style taverns specializing in paella and local tapas. Ordering a drink and pairing it with some snacks is a great way to get a taste of the local flavor. If you do not want to sit down, buying fried seafood or other prepared foods to eat while you walk around is also very convenient.Barcelona · 34.5 km from Sitges

Passeig de Gracia is the main avenue in Barcelona, located in the middle of the expansion area (Eixample), starting from Plaza Catalunya in the south and reaching Carrer Grande Gracia in the north. It is known as the "Champs Elysees" in Barcelona. Passeig de Gracia is also one of the most important shopping areas in Barcelona. There are enough shops here for fashionistas to visit for a long time. In addition to Prada, Gucci, Loewe, Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana, there are also Zara, H&M, Mango, etc. High street fashion brand. This street is full of tourists during the day, and the shop windows along the street are dazzling. Even if you don't go into the store for shopping, you can just look at the shop windows. If you are tired of shopping, you might as well find an open-air coffee shop on the roadside, drink afternoon tea and watch the beautiful buildings on the street and the people on the street. Plaça d’Espanya is located at the foot of Montjuïc in Barcelona. Built for the World's Fair, it is one of the largest squares in Barcelona, where several major city thoroughfares converge, and it serves as an important gateway to the museum district on the hill. The square's attractions are concentrated along a complete central axis: a pair of brick-red Venetian towers flank the entrance to Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina. The square, boxy towers, standing dozens of meters high, once served as the main entrance to the World's Fair and are now iconic landmarks of the square. Pass through thetwin towersand head up the avenue, passing the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, to reach the Montjuïc National Palace at the top of the hill. Looking up from the square, thetwin towersecho the domed palace on the hill. With its symmetrical axis and expansive view, such a large-scale landscape composition is rare in Barcelona. In the center of the square stands a fountain created by a partner of Gaudí. Tibidabo is one of the peaks of the Parc Natural de la Serra de Collserola, standing over 500m above sea level. Looking out from the summit, the city blocks stretch all the way to the Mediterranean coast. The mountain's name comes from the Latin "Tibi dabo," meaning "I will give to you," derived from the story of ascending a high mountain to overlook the prosperity of the world—a fitting description for the view before you: on a clear day, your gaze can extend fromMontjuïcall the way to the sea, taking in the entirety of Barcelona. Most of the mountain lies within the Parc Natural de la Serra de Collserola. The pine-covered slopes are crisscrossed with trails, often frequented by hikers and cyclists, making it a popular backyard for Barcelona residents on weekend outings. The summit area is home to several striking landmarks: the central bell tower of the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is topped with a bronze statue of the Sacred Heart. You can take an elevator or climb the spiral staircase to the top of the tower to survey the entire city from the foot of the statue; the old amusement park right next to the church has been in operation for many years and even houses a museum with a collection of vintage automatons; not far away, the Torre de Collserola, designed by Norman Foster for the 1992 Olympic Games, stands on the ridge with its nearly 300m mast-like structure. The tower features an observation deck and can be recognized from many corners of the city when you look up.Barcelona · 33.3 km from Sitges

Port of Barcelona

Port of Barcelona is backed by Montjuïc and faces the Mediterranean Sea. It is not only an important cruise homeport and ferry terminal on the Mediterranean coast but also a popular waterfront destination in the city. The old port area has undergone comprehensive renovation, transforming former warehouses, freight depots, and railway yards into a leisure coastline filled with yachts and sightseeing boats. Starting from beside the Columbus Monument, the "Passarel·la Rambla del Mar" wooden boardwalk uses a wavy arc to draw the flow of people from La Rambla out to the sea, making it a highly recognizable photo spot in the port area; on the reclaimed peninsula at the end of the boardwalk, the Maremàgnum shopping center and the aquarium stand by the water. If you want a different perspective of the city, you can take the "Las Golondrinas" sightseeing boats departing from the pier next to the monument—these wooden sightseeing boats have been operating for over 100 years. They first circle the old port and then head east along the coastline, allowing you to look back at the entire city skyline from the sea. A more expansive experience comes from the aerial cable car that spans the harbor: the cabins depart from the tower on the La Barceloneta side, cross theold harborthrough the air, and go straight up to the hillside of Montjuïc, offering a panoramic view of the port, beach, and city skyline. This is also the starting point for many Mediterranean cruise routes, and there are also ferry services to and from places like the Balearic Islands.Barcelona · 32.7 km from Sitges

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is a Gothic Revival style Roman Catholic basilica dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and is one of the most well-known sanctuaries in Barcelona. The interior of the sanctuary is divided into three naves by semicircular apexes, and the façade is particularly striking with its stained glass windows and rosettes. As the scene of "Midnight in Barcelona", the Sanctuary has attracted many tourists to visit.Barcelona · 33.2 km from Sitges

La Rambla

La Rambla is a tree-lined pedestrian avenue in Barcelona's old town. It starts at Plaça de Catalunya in the north, following a gentle slope south for approx. 1.2 km to the Columbus Monument by the sea at the Port Vell. The Gothic Quarter lies to the east, and El Raval to the west. The word "Rambla" comes from Arabic, originally meaning a seasonally dry riverbed—this was once a drainage channel along the city walls, and the pavement now features wavy patterns that still hint at this history. The avenue is divided into five sections from north to south, each named after the monasteries and institutions that once stood here. At the northern end, the Font de Canaletes is associated with the saying that "those who drink from the fountain will return to Barcelona," and it's a traditional gathering spot for local fans celebrating team victories; the middle section is the highlight of the street, with rows of flower stalls making the "Flower Street" name apt, and the Mercat de la Boqueria right beside it, with a circular mosaic medallion by the artist Miró embedded in the pavement in front; the nearby Liceu Opera House and the Placa Reial, with its lampposts designed by a young Gaudí, are also worth a detour; the southern section ends with portrait painters and street performers, with newsstands and souvenir kiosks lining the way.Barcelona · 34.6 km from Sitges

Sitges Beach is very big and the sand is very fine. The sun makes the sand warm and it is very comfortable to walk on barefoot. There are many people sunbathing on the beach, and some are playing beach volleyball. Everyone is enjoying the beach time in their own way.

❤️Barcelona, Passeig de Gràcia, is the pride of Barcelona people. 🌟Count down those "weird" architectural artworks by masters: Figure 1⃣️-2⃣️: Casa Batlló, this is a story in itself. 👸 A beautiful princess was trapped in the castle by a dragon. The hero St. George fought with the dragon to rescue the princess and stabbed the dragon with a sword. The dragon's blood turned into a bright red rose, and St. George presented the flower to the princess. Gaudi's inspiration came from this story. The roof of "Casa Batlló" is arched, with colorful mosaic tiles and wavy glass ceramic pieces, like the back of the dragon, fishbone-like protruding balconies and colorful flying dragons hovering on the roof, and the cross-shaped chimney represents the hero. All these unique ideas add a layer of mythology to the design. Figure 3⃣️-6⃣️: Casa Mila, alien roof and art coffee shop. 👽 At that time, the wealthy Mr. Milà (Pere Milà) admired the Casa Batlló designed by Gaudi very much. Casa Milà was the last private residence designed by Gaudi. Now Casa Milà has become a cultural and art center, with one floor dedicated to exhibition halls and audio-visual rooms, and a suite that reproduces the modernist furniture of the time. The attic and rooftop terrace are the "Gaudi's Space" exhibition hall, which showcases the master's exquisite design and is most worth seeing. The chimneys on the roof that look like alien soldiers are fantastic no matter how you take pictures. ☕️ If you are tired of shopping, I especially recommend the Art Café on the second floor of Casa Milà, where you can eat some simple Western food and drink a cup of fragrant coffee. Figure 7⃣️-🔟: Barcelona's famous Discord District (Illadela Discòrdia). This short stretch of road brings together three buildings designed by three masters of different styles, namely the dreamy "Casa Batlló", the dignified "Casa Amatller" and the soft "Casa Lleó Morera". 🦁️ I really like the pink-toned House of Lions and Mulberry Trees. Unlike other buildings, it is not named after the owner, but after the lion (lleó) and mulberry tree (morera) in the decorative pattern. Although the exterior is not as stunning as other famous buildings, the old wooden carved elevator inside, the ubiquitous flower decorative patterns, and the use of colors highlight the vitality of this building. I wonder if the architect also has a girl's heart? 💗 Figure 1⃣️1⃣️: The Tàpies Foundation (Fundació Antoni Tàpies), which exhibits the works of the most important Catalan artists. Above the front of the building is the famous wire sculpture "Cloud and Chair". 🌹 Passeig de Gracia (Pg. Gracia) is a stunningly beautiful avenue where you will forget the passage of time.
