North hall: A 3.5-billion-year journey Animals return to the ocean Approximately 3.5 billion years ago, single-celled organisms emerged in the oceans, becoming the earliest life forms on Earth. Countless species evolved along their own paths, with some migrating to land and evolving into giant dinosaurs that once dominated the terrestrial realm. However, they eventually became extinct. Later, mammals dominated the land. Around 50 million years ago, some mammals returned to the ocean, their natural habitat. These animals evolved into modern whales. To adapt to underwater life, they developed streamlined bodies, forming the graceful shapes we see today. This exhibition will chronologically guide visitors into the world of cetaceans. These marine creatures have adapted to underwater life, developing remarkable intelligence, and are said to hold a terrestrial status comparable to humans. South hall: Journey to Antarctica Global journey, encountering diverse life across the five oceans The vast ocean covers approx. 70% of the earth's surface, featuring diverse temperatures and climates that enable organisms to adapt to various environments and continuously evolve. In the south pavilion, you can retrace the route of the Antarctic research vessel "Fuji" docked at Nagoya port garden pier, and observe creatures living in different water zones including the "Sea of Japan", "Deep sea exhibition hall", "Equatorial waters", "Australian waters", and "Antarctic waters". Let's embark on an Antarctic journey and observe the ecosystems of creatures living in different waters up close.Nagoya · 25.3 km from Toyota

Kalankei is the No. 1 famous spot for autumn leaves in the Tokai region of Japan, located in a national park in Assuke Town, Ousami River. The origin of the name of Kalan Stream is a combination of the "fragrance" of Kasakuji Temple and the "Arashi" of Arashiyama, the famous place for maple leaves in Kyoto. In the first half of the 17th century, after reading a volume of the Prajna Heart Sutra, Zen Master Shen Rong planted a red-leaf tree by the Xianglan River. Later people followed his aspirations and planted trees in the valleys and streams. So far, there are more than 4,000 trees and 11 different kinds of red-leaf trees by the Xianglan River. The beautiful stream of Bachuan, accompanied by the burning red leaves, is like a picture scroll of Jinqiu. It is a must-visit red-leaf spot for Japanese. Tourists can walk slowly from the Toyue Bridge of Bachuan, a tributary of the Yazak River, to the Kalan Bridge, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. In addition, Ashesuke Town has been the main route for transporting salt to Shinano (Nagano Prefecture) since ancient times. Therefore, the Sanshu Ashesuke House was built on the banks of the Xianglan River, which is a reproduction of the homestead of a rich farmer in the Meiji era. Tourists can enjoy the unique natural ecology and the simple mountain village life here, and they can also experience cloth weaving, indigo dyeing, and copying. Paper, bamboo crafts and other farm work at that time. In addition, there are camping grounds near Xianglan Stream, suitable for tourists who love outdoor activities.Toyota · 15.3 km from downtown

Ghibli Park, Japan: A Whimsical Journey Into Studio Ghibli’s WorldGhibli Park in Aichi, Japan, is a dream come true for fans of Studio Ghibli. Rather than flashy rides, the park offers immersive experiences that bring the magic of films like My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle to life. You can explore lovingly recreated sets, walk through forest trails, and even step into Satsuki and Mei’s house or the mysterious Ghibli Grand Warehouse. The attention to detail is breathtaking — every corner feels like you’ve stepped inside a hand-drawn scene.Peaceful, nostalgic, and beautifully designed, Ghibli Park is more than a theme park — it’s a gentle, heartfelt tribute to imagination itself.Perfect for those who grew up with Ghibli and anyone who loves artful storytelling.

Come and pay homage to the history of the industrial giant Toyota. Although they started in the textile industry, they accidentally created the legend of the automobile manufacturing industry later, and now they still dominate the global automobile production and sales. From the exhibition route and introduction, we can also see the extreme pursuit of details by the Japanese. There is also a small restaurant in the museum that provides simple meals, and even the pre-made dishes taste good.

This Toyota Automobile Museum displays many brands of cars. I thought it wouldn't be very exciting, but I was shocked when I went to the second floor exhibition hall. It only takes more than 20 minutes to drive from Nagoya to this exhibition hall. This is a place worth visiting. When visiting exhibitions in Japan, you can enter and exit many times with the ticket for the day, which is very good.

The Aquarium is a great place for avid sea lovers- we especially loved the dolphin’s performance. The South building really surprised us with the turtles and the penguins especially . It was great to see the way the aquarium was build around the environments where the animals reside in the wild ( such as the coral reef sections).

Korankei in Toyota City has many strange rocks due to its large drop and rapid flow. It is known for its beautiful scenery and is called "Shosen Gorge of the East China Sea". In autumn, the trees are dyed red, with different shades of red, which is very pleasing to the eye. It is a great place to visit for autumn leaves.
