Haeundae Beach is located in the southeast of Busan and is an urban beach characterized by its fine white sand and shallow bay. The beach is approx. 1.5 km long with fine, soft sand, and the slope into the water is gentle, making it suitable for swimming and playing in the water. High-rise buildings and hotels are distributed around the coast, where modern urban views and the open sea complement each other, creating a unique coastal landscape. The name of the beach is related to the pen name "Haeun" of the Silla-era scholar Choi Chi-won, and the "Haeundae" inscription remains on the rocks of nearby Dongbaek Park, adding a historical touch to the coast. In summer, rows of parasols are a common sight on the beach, attracting many tourists to swim and relax. At night, the lights of the high-rise buildings reflect on the sea, and you can also enjoy the coastal night view while walking along the seaside promenade. The beach also hosts the Polar Bear Swimming Festival and the Haeundae Sand Festival, where you can enjoy large sand sculptures and related activities during the festival. During New Year's Day, the seaside is also one of the spots to watch the sunrise and welcome the new year. Restaurants and accommodation facilities are concentrated around the beach, making it suitable for both experiencing seaside leisure and enjoying the view where the city of Busan meets the ocean.Busan · 22.6 km from Yangsan-si

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

447 reviews
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is situated on the cliffs of the east coast of Busan, a Buddhist temple nestled between the mountains and the sea. Legend has it that the temple was founded in 1376 by the monk Naong, who served as the royal preceptor to King Gongmin. It was later destroyed by war and rebuilt in the 1930s under the guidance of monks from Tongdosa Temple. In 1974, the head monk Jeong-am dreamed of the White-robed Guanyin ascending to heaven on a dragon while praying, which is how the temple got its name, adding a legendary touch to this seaside temple. Descending 108 stone steps from the entrance leads to the temple, passing by Sunrise Rock, which is perfect for viewing the sea and sunrise. The temple buildings are distributed along the coastal cliffs; the Seawater Guanyin statue faces the sea, the Main Hall (Daeungjeon) is decorated with traditional dancheong paintings, and the Cave Dharma Hall (Gulbeopdang) is built into a rock cave, enshrining a seated Maitreya Buddha. The Four-Lion Three-Story Stone Pagoda in front of the Main Hall is also a unique feature, with the 4 stone lions displaying expressions of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, respectively. In addition, the temple also has a Dragon King Hall and stone carvings such as the 12 zodiac animal statues. In spring, cherry blossoms near the entrance add color to the temple. Around Buddha's Birthday, rows of colorful lanterns are hung throughout the temple, and at night, the lights reflect off the ocean waves, creating a unique scene. Strolling along the stone steps and viewing areas, you can enjoy the combined scenery of the temple architecture, coastal rocks, and the vast sea.Busan · 23.5 km from Yangsan-si

Tongdu Temple is located in the south of Jiuqi Mountain. The reason why Tongdu Temple is famous is that the real body relics of Bodhisattvas are placed in his temple, so there are no Buddha statues in the temple. Tongdu Temple is one of the three famous temples in Korea. It is located in a lush forest with more than 70 buildings of various sizes, rich in cultural relics and beautiful scenery. Built in AD 646, it was founded by Master Ci Zang who brought back the Buddha's relic from the Tang Dynasty. It was burned down during the Imjin Japanese Rebellion and rebuilt in 1601 and 1641. There are 35 buildings and pagodas in the temple, 14 nunneries around it, 19 local treasures and 794 local cultural heritages. Because of the placement of the Buddha's relic, although there is no Buddha statue, there are all kinds of drums, cloud plates, wooden fish, and Brahma bells in the Fanzhong Pavilion. In addition, there are a total of 35 buildings including the exquisitely decorated Daeungjeon Hall, Fujimon Gate, and stone reliefs that have been preserved for 1,300 years. The natural landscape of Jiuqi Mountain, where Tongdu Temple is located, is very beautiful. From the entrance of the temple to the Yizhumen, there are pine trees that have been lined up for hundreds of years. There are Dharma drums, bells, sunset lights, lotus ponds in the temple, and waterfalls and rocks behind the temple. The scenery is excellent, so it is known as the "Eight Sceneries of Tongdu Temple". There are also experience activities of temple accommodation in the temple. Visitors can choose to temporarily stay in the temple for one night and experience the peaceful and safe realm of being away from the world in the deep mountains.Yangsan-si · 17.2 km from downtown

480 reviews
Gwangalli Beach is located in a bay in Suyeong District, Busan, and, together with Haeundae Beach to the east, is one of Busan’s most representative seaside beaches. The beach forms a crescent shape, with fine, soft sand stretching for about 1.4 kilometers, while Gwangan Bridge lies across the bay. During the day, the bridge and the deep blue sea create an open, expansive view; after dark, the bridge lights up and reflects on the water, creating a captivating nightscape. The car-chase scenes in the film Black Panther were also filmed around this beach. The area is not only ideal for enjoying views of the sea; in summer, visitors can also take part in activities such as swimming, surfing, and paddleboarding, with numerous surf shops located around the beach. The streets behind the beach are lined with cafés, restaurants, and sashimi restaurants, while on the Millak-dong side there are Millak Waterside Park and a live-fish market. On Saturday evenings, drone shows often light up the sky above the beach, forming different patterns with lights that complement the nightscape of Gwangan Bridge. The annual Busan Fireworks Festival is also held mainly over this bay. Coming in the evening allows visitors to enjoy the sunset and watch the bridge transform from a daytime view into a nighttime display of lights.Busan · 21.5 km from Yangsan-si

Busan's sea doesn't need filters or extensive planning. Just looking at the lighthouse and listening to the waves is enough to while away the time. - 🚠 Coastline At Haeundae Beach, you can take the Sky Capsule or the Coastal Train. Unfortunately, both were sold out, so you'd have to enjoy the coastal scenery on foot. - ☕️ Sandy Blue There are many cafes along the beach, some with long queues. I randomly went into Sandy Blue; there's a window on the second floor facing the lighthouse. -

It was our first time visiting Lotte World Adventure Busan with my son and my friend with her son, and we had so much fun together! The rides were exciting and family-friendly, and the whole place had such a fun atmosphere. The highlight of our trip was definitely the parade — it was beautiful, lively, and the kids enjoyed it so much. It became a very special memory for all of us. We will definitely visit again!

It is so big that it is worthy of being called one of the three major temples, and there are many things to see. Since it is just a mountain with a temple on it, it would be great to visit if you like hiking or choosing things. There is also a large prayer bead and souvenir shop, so it is nice to look around, and since there are many trees inside the temple, I could feel a sense of healing.
