From the Hiroo area, run on the Golden Road (National Highway 336), and as soon as you pass the shuno fishing port, there is a Erimo Park Line (Dodo 34) heading for Cape Erimo. On the way to Cape Erimo, a bow-shaped sandy beach continues for about 10 km. This sandy beach is "Hyakuninhama". The origin of the name Hyakuninhama is said to be because a ship was distressed off the coast of this beach in the Edo period and the bodies of 100 people were launched. The area around Cape Erimo is windy all year round, and the flow is fast, so it must have been a difficult place in the sea in the past.
After passing through the golden road where kelp fishing is popular, the sandy beach continues to be a bow shape to Cape Erimo. It's a normal scenery and you'll feel like Cape Erimo, but it's a good idea to put your car in the parking lot, climb the observatory, and take a leisurely look at the scenery. The pine trees in the sand-proof forest are still small, and it will be a harsh environment with strong winds all year round. Tokoro 々 had flowers with manasu and ezokan elephants. I love this lonely and harsh scenery.

Surfing is also popular on the shallow coast, and many people enjoy surfing in Hokkaido in the short summer. The water temperature is cold, so it is not suitable for swimming, but it is a beach like Hokkaido.
If you go from the direction of Hiroocho to Cape Erimo via the Golden Road, you will find a comfortable road with scenery that you can't think of in Japan. Meanwhile, this Hyakujinhama is in front of Cape Erimo. There is an observatory and an auto campsite, but it was a windy place, depending on the day. The sea around here was once known as a difficult place, and it seems that the name of this beach is derived from that.
When we published Cape Erimo, we set up a tent at the Hyakujinhama Auto Campground, which is about 10 minutes from the cape to Hiroo Town in Tokachi. The next morning, I woke up with the chirping of birds, had morning coffee, and went for a walk. The destination is the observatory of Sakukoinuma and Hyakujinhama, which are close to the campsite. Between Cape Erimo and Hiroo Town, there are many places where the Hidaka Mountains are depressed into the sea, and there are many places where the cliffs continue, but here ...
