About 5 minutes walk from Shin Iizuka Station. Admission fee is 200 yen. It was Sunday morning, but it was vacant. Since Iizuka City was a former coal mine town, I personally expected an exhibition related to coal mines, but the main exhibition seems to be an exhibition related to ancient (Yayoi period) ruins. Even so, looking at the photos and actual mines, I feel more about the times.
A few minutes walk from Shin Iizuka Station and easy access. Parking is also sufficiently secured. I went to see the annual exhibition "War and People 々 Life - Battleship "Kongo" and Pacific War -". Admission fee 230 yen is JAF discount and 160 yen. Shooting is prohibited in the collection exhibition room and the planning exhibition room, but the permanent exhibition room is not prohibited from taking pictures except for the paintings of Okina Yamamoto. A facility located 5 minutes walk from the east exit of Shin-Iizuka Station. Exhibits of excavated items from the Tateiwa ruins are substantial, and several excavated items designated as national important cultural properties are also exhibited 々. In particular, the exhibition of human bones and burial goods in the Kame coffin left an impression on me. Next, Yamamotobei's coal mine record painting. Although it is a work that is not registered as a World Memory Heritage Site, there are several original paintings and 13 points when including replicas. The life of coal miners at that time and the state of the mining site in the coal mine were drawn, and I was interested in it. The content is more than I thought ...
5 minutes walk from Shin Iizuka station. Admission fee is 220 yen. The excavated items from the Yayoi period archaeological site "Tateiwa Ruins" in Iizuka City are the center of the exhibition. The permanent exhibition room also exhibits art such as coal mining tools, dioramas, folk tools, agricultural tools, Japanese paintings, and pottery, so it may be a place for local children to learn about the history of the region.
Do you know "Iizuka City History Museum"? JR It is a museum that knows the history of Iizuka City, about a 5-minute walk from Shin-Iizuka Station. I would like you to visit the museum. Shooting is prohibited in the hall. The items 々 excavated during the Jomon period, the Yayoi period, and the Kofun period are on display. In the garden, there was also a Manyoshu Yamagami Ira and Otomo Traveler's Monument.
