Overview of the Rewake Buddha Temple Site : The Rewake Buddha Temple Site is located in the desert 50 kilometers northwest of Luopu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tian District. It is a temple building site centered on the Buddha Tower, with a total area of 2250 square meters. The remains of the tower courtyard are square in plane, the courtyard wall is adobe masonry, the outside of the tower is surrounded by a square courtyard wall, the east and west are45.5 meters long, the south and north are49.4 meters long, the residual height is about 3 meters, the thickness is about 1 meter, and the middle of the south wall is the courtyard door. The pagoda is built with adobe, the residual height is 9 meters, the plane is "+" shape, the tower is divided into four poles, the plane is 15 meters long and the height is5.3 meters. The tower is cylindrical, straight diameter 9.6 meters, the residual height 3.6 meters, the top of the tower is covered with diamonds, which is disabled. There are exquisite Buddha and Bodhisattva statues on both sides of the courtyard wall. As well as a large number of smaller Buddha statues and relief ornaments, there are a small number of murals on the courtyard wall. Domestic scholars generally believe that the site of the Rewake Buddhist Temple was built during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Its architectural form and mural style are deeply influenced by the Veda culture. A large number of murals and statues with high research value were unearthed in the late Tang Dynasty, and the existing building scale basically retained the situation during the initial construction period. The Rewake Buddha Temple has been caused by the archaeological and historical circles at home and abroad since the discovery of the British explorer Stein in the early 20th century. The great response has been paid attention to by academics at home and abroad. On June 25, 2001, the State Council announced it as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units nationwide.
