Surprising gem of a museum, cunningly concealed in a drab municipal office building
This was a surprising find. The museum is located within a drab building which seems to double up as the local municipal office and the museum itself is located in an obscure corner. The area around M...
Great little archaeological museum with some English
Found this little museum on Jomon culture (Prehistoric) at the foothills of Mt Asama with a focus on the archaeological site of Kawarada - and has a number of original artefacts. Upstairs there is als...
Next to the south of the office. Admission fee 500 yen. Full novelty. The Jomon ruins centered on Hokkaido and Northeastern North are gaining momentum toward World Heritage registration, but Nagano Prefecture such as Asama and Chino is surprisingly substantial. The city will be revitalized as a World Heritage Site, and expectations will be raised for further cooperation throughout Japan.
The experience was substantial, and when I made magatama, the children were happy and had a good time. If it's just an exhibition, it's over in an instant.
It's small, but you can learn the Jomon period firmly.

In the era when pyramids were about to be made in the world, it seems that the Jomon period, which lasted 1 for 10,000 years in Japan, lived a peaceful and happy life in harmony with nature without conflict. At the same time, I learned that Jomon pottery changes with age. There is also an exhibition corner about materials and nature at the time when the famine was caused by the eruption of Mt. Asama in front of you if it is sunny, so you can deepen your understanding of the characteristics of this region.
