Born on April 5th (1786) in the 10th year of King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty (lunar calendar), he became a monk at the age of 15 and became a Zen master when he crossed the sea from Moonrise Mountain and became a Zen master. . As a Zen monk who caused a whirlwind in the stagnant Buddhist world in the late Joseon Dynasty, he was praised by later generations as a tea monk who revived the Korean tea ceremony. In May 1997, designated as a cultural figure as an opportunity, at No. 94-3, Wangsan-ri, Sanxiang-myeon, Muan-gun, the birth house, memorial pavilion, memorial monument and memorial exhibition hall were built, and a tea culture hall, tea education hall, etc. were established. The holy place in the hearts of tea lovers. In order to commemorate and praise him, every year on the birthday (April 5th of the lunar calendar), a cultural festival for the birth of Zen Master Caoyi will be held, attracting many tourists and tea drinkers.
