It's a little far from the main street, but after visiting the Great Buddha Hall, you can take a walk around the auditorium ruins on the back and Shosoin. During the Tenpyo era, the common people were still mainly pit dwellings, and even in the aristocrat class, houses with tiles were not common yet. In such an era, you can realize that even the gates of the large temples were overwhelmed by this structure.
Nara Kendo 754 It is located along the Yokota Kizu Line. Although it is a busy road, the surrounding area is also built so that the scenery of Nara Town is not damaged. The character is Tengaimon, but it seems that this area is called Tegaimachi. It is also familiar with Shosoin. Although the scale is small, it is a structure that feels history and taste.
The gate of the change is the gate on the west side of Shosoin. 2 It is said to be one of the few buildings in the temple that has been burned down in the war. It's a national treasure, it's wonderful as Do hall 々. Unlike Nandaimon, it is on the outskirts, so few people visit and you can see it quietly.

About 10 minutes walk north on National Highway 369 from Nara Prefectural Office. A large gate suddenly appears. A national treasure building that is built in the old precincts of Todaiji Temple. It is a building from the Tenpyo era, and it is a magnificent and elegant gate that keeps the scale of Todaiji Temple as it is. The warped roof and thick pillars reminiscent of Western architecture are impressive. Looking at this pillar, I strongly felt the influence of Western civilization through the Silk Road. It's worth the trip.
If you walk north on National Highway 369 from the intersection of the Nara Prefectural Office, you will see a traditional wooden building along the road. That is the turning gate. It is said that only this gate dived through many fires such as the burning of the Taira clan and left the figure of the Nara period. Since it is only a gate, the value of the gate is not known to the gate outsider, but there is something that attracts the appearance of standing quietly.
