明池边的百鹅亭，据考其年代为明代。这是一座墓前祭拜的亭，1959年从宁波南郊的祖关山迁移至此。之所以叫百鹅亭，是因为宁波富家大户清明祭拜先人时，为了显示排场和阔气，要杀100只鹅敬祖。百鹅亭的设计也很有意思，因为它是虽然是一座石头亭子，但却是一个仿木的建筑，尤其是顶棚的设计，仿造的是木建筑里的斗拱，而且大家都说，这斗拱的式样，和2010年上海世博中国馆的设计特别的像。
