Corniglia is one of the Cinque Terres and is in the middle of the Cinque Terre for centuries. Unlike other parts of the Cinque Terre, Corniglia is not directly adjacent to the sea. It sits at the top of the promontory, about 100 metres high, surrounded by vineyards and terraces on three sides, and on the fourth side steeply descends to the sea.
