I visited 10/16. Unlike Mikuni Pass, the distance to the city is close, so the sense of distance from the autumn leaves overlooking is also close. I think the part where the reddish-brown autumn leaves are spreading is probably the Self-Defense Forces training ground.
With the naked eye, you can overlook the landscape of the Tokachi Plain, which is wide 々. It's a very pleasant landscape with wide 々, and I think this view is only here.
The day I visited was fine, and I could see the scenery below well in the distance. The parking lot and this observatory itself are very diagonal, probably because they are on the mountainside. I enjoyed this diagonal condition that I could step on a little.

it's hard to describe in pictures
