Library of Water

We came to Stykkisholmur on rainy, windy and cold days, so we tried to find indoor activities. We purchased a museum pass, which includes the Water Library, Volcano Museum and the Norwegian House. We got the password to lock the water library door. There was no one else when we arrived. My husband was sitting in a corner asleep, and I had a wonderful time taking pictures of the water column and the reflection and refraction from all angles. How the artist strategically positioned the water column to create all these different effects was amazing. I wondered what it would look like when sunlight crossed the column. There was nothing else in the room except these columns. It was very quiet and Zen. This is a great place to sit, meditate or practice yoga. I think people will love it or hate it. I stayed here for an hour until the closing time. To be sure, the building is located on a hilltop with great views of the harbor and village.
