It's a magnificent mansion in the Chido Museum.

The Chido Museum in Tsuruoka City is a museum full of the history of Tsuruoka, with many historical buildings in Tsuruoka. When I entered from the entrance of the Chido Museum, the former Sonai feudal lord Mikuden was built almost in front of me. This building is a retirement house built by the 11th Shonai feudal lord Tadahata Sakai in 1863, which is the end of the Edo period. It is said that it is a building that dismantled the middle mansion in Edo and relocated some of it. I took off my shoes at the entrance of the building and was able to tour the inside of the building.
It was a retirement house built by Tadahari Sakai, the lord of Shonai, in the Chido Museum area, and became the home of the Count Sakai after the Meiji era. There are many materials such as a diorama of a castle in the building.
It is a retirement house built by the Lord of the Shonai domain, Tadahari Sakai, who dismantled the middle mansion in Edo and relocated to the Maru mansion of Tsuruoka Castle. It has a small beautiful garden designated as a national scenic spot, and it reminds me of the life of the Sakai feudal lord during the Edo period. Inside the building, the state of Tsurugaoka Castle in the Edo period, armor helmets handed down to the former Shonai feudal lord Sakai family, furnishings, etc. are introduced and exhibited.
