Choosing to come to Lijiang in spring was definitely the right decision!!! My friends had long told me that I must visit Yunnan for its incredibly beautiful scenery, and I chose Lijiang for my trip to Yunnan. Before coming, I was really worried that altitude sickness would disrupt the rest of my trip, but after arriving, I found that the biggest impact was actually my own lack of physical stamina. 1 I chose a relatively easy route, Blue Moon Valley. I'm quite grateful that although it was an overcast day, there was occasional sunshine, making the lake water shimmer like jewels under the sun, framed by the snow-capped mountains like a scene from a movie. I didn't arrange any subsequent itinerary, so I could take a leisurely stroll around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Before leaving, I kept taking live photos, saying I'd take one last look. 2 Finally, I arrived at Tiger Leaping Gorge. Starting from halfway to the Middle Tiger Leaping, I marveled at the scenery I had never seen before all along the way. From Mr. Zhang's guesthouse to the Middle Tiger Leaping, it was pure mountain climbing with strong winds and lots of dust. By the end, my pants, shoes, mask, and nostrils were all covered in dust, and even the water I drank was mixed with dirt. This part of the journey also resulted in cuts on my hands and a swollen knee, making it difficult to climb stairs the next day. The kindness of strangers who gave me a mask and band-aids reminded me that there is true kindness in the world. 3 I chose to wander around Lijiang Ancient Town, where the vegetation coverage far exceeds that of other cookie-cutter ancient towns. Walking through the ancient town and admiring the flowers was like strolling through a park. Spending is entirely up to oneself, and my most satisfying purchase was Jiahua fresh flower cakes and Dongba paper.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, 25 km north from Lijiang city, takes around an hour drive to arrive. There are 19 glaciers in the mountain, and the highest peak is Shanzidou(扇子陡) of 5596 M. While the reachable from tourists are 4680 M. Need to register one day before, taking a cable up, you can have very clear view of the valley and mountain rocks, stunning view to be honest. The cable will first take you to 4506 M platform to let you adapt to the climate and temperature🙊 I was super excited about this platform, from where we can not only have an open view of the mountain ridges and far away, but also can look up of the peak, fabulous😍😍😍😍😍 Then the next landmark is 4576 M. OMG, barely can catch my breath for only climbing up 70 meters😅 so tired and needed to rest every 10-15 meter. But anyway, I made it to the highest 4680 M, kinda big challenge in my life🤣🤣the highest mountain I have ever been to😘😘😘 📌云南省丽江市玉龙雪山景区 🎫 150 RMB 🔛 8:00- 17:00 ❌ 1. Don't jump; 2. There have lots of place in the area. You have to use cable car to the mountain. And you have to climb up to the peak at 4680 m. above the sea. The top has low oxygen, so you need to walk slowly and doing everything slower than normal. There have lots of people all year. The peak period is on May to October. But I recommend you to go on early November. Because it is not crowded and have snow on peak.
