The Ultimate Tropical Miyazaki Getaway: Ocean, Shrines, Stunning Views, and Miyazaki Beef... Everything Was an Absolute Win. — traveler post in Aya

The Ultimate Tropical Miyazaki Getaway: Ocean, Shrines, Stunning Views, and Miyazaki Beef... Everything Was an Absolute Win.

From the very moment I landed at Miyazaki Bougainvillea Airport, the tropical vibes were turned up to the MAX! 🌴✨ From there, I headed straight to Miyazaki's premier resort: Phoenix Seagaia Resort Ocean Tower Right in front of the hotel lies an endless stretch of deep blue ocean. 🌊 Taking an early morning stroll with the crisp, clear air feels absolutely incredible... Just walking along the cycling path gives you the perfect moment to clear your mind. Next up, I visited a famous spiritual power spot: ⛩️ Aoshima Shrine The mystical scenery, surrounded by the famous "Devil's Washboard" rock formations, feels wonderfully out of this world. Then, it was off to a thrilling scenic spot! 🌉 Teruha Suspension Bridge Honestly, the long, swaying suspension bridge is a bit scary... but the breathtaking view on the other side is totally worth it. And to wrap things up, the ultimate trip treat: 🥩 Melt-in-your-mouth delicious Miyazaki Beef This is seriously on a level that everyone needs to try at least once... Miyazaki truly has it all—nature, incredible food, and total relaxation, Honestly... it was just the best! 🌺 I definitely want to go back again! ✈️💛

Izu 2026 Early Spring Cherry Blossom Viewing Guide — traveler post in Aya

Izu 2026 Early Spring Cherry Blossom Viewing Guide

From January to March 2026, enjoy early spring cherry blossoms in Izu, from plum blossoms to cherry blossoms, accompanied by shades of pink all along the way. The flower season in Atami is from January to February. Atami Plum Garden is the earliest blooming plum garden in Japan, where morning sunlight filters through the plum trees, creating a serene, Zen-like atmosphere. Along the Itokawa Promenade, deep pink "Atami Sakura" bloom abundantly along the stream. The low tree trunks are perfect for close-up portrait photography, with a very high success rate for great shots. In Toi, the flower season is from late January to early February. The "Toi Sakura" in Matsubara Park blooms earliest, with a deeper color than Kawazu cherry blossoms. In the morning mist, take a set of cherry blossom photos with the world's largest flower clock as the backdrop, fully capturing the hot spring town’s atmosphere. The flower season at Ito's Omuroyama is generally in late March. The Cherry Blossom Village is located at the foot of the matcha-green Omuroyama, where Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom. Using a wide-angle lens to capture the mountain as the background, the pink and green contrast feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli animation. The flower season at Shirahama Ikuna is generally from late January to mid-March. Next to Shirahama Shrine, early cherry blossoms sway against the blue Pacific Ocean backdrop, creating a quiet and romantic scene. Come to Izu and start a pink romantic journey!

Hidden Gem: Chihiro Falls and the Enchanting Aya Town — traveler post in Aya

Hidden Gem: Chihiro Falls and the Enchanting Aya Town

Kyushu, a region brimming with mystical charm, never ceases to amaze. Nestled in the lush southwestern corner of Miyazaki Prefecture lies a quaint town embraced by forests, named Aya. Like a serene and graceful Japanese maiden, Aya exudes an understated beauty, akin to a fairytale castle secluded in the mountains. The air here feels lighter, and every step into the verdant wilderness feels like walking into a tranquil poem. Known for its suspension bridge and equestrian culture, this town also harbors a secret known only to locals: Chihiro Falls. A Serendipitous Journey to the Hidden Waterfall Initially, our journey was to visit the famous Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge, one of Japan's largest pedestrian suspension bridges. Spanning a verdant valley with a deep stream below, the bridge sways gently in the breeze, lifting your spirits as you cross. It wasn’t until a local, upon hearing our interest in "hidden spots," smiled and pointed to an almost invisible black dot on the map, saying, "That’s Chihiro Falls. You won’t find it on GPS; you’ll need your eyes and heart to guide you." Following his directions, we discovered the entrance. Driving required extra attention: a tiny wooden sign and a small torii gate that could easily be mistaken for decoration. If not for careful observation, it would be easy to miss. Beyond the torii lies a narrow mountain path, almost invisible, accessible only on foot. But it takes less than a minute. Rounding a mountain wall, Chihiro Falls suddenly appears, dreamlike and ethereal. Cascading from a towering cliff, the waterfall seems to touch the sky, its mist as delicate as silk. The rocks beneath are slick like mirrors, and the crystal-clear spring water beckons you to immerse yourself in its embrace. A Natural Baptism We carefully navigated the rocks and stepped into the water. Even in midsummer, the water was refreshingly cool but not biting, like a cup of nectar offered by the mountains. Below the waterfall lies a natural pool, a sacred basin seemingly guarded by mountain spirits. Mist swirls around, gently caressing your skin, not with a sting but with an invigorating touch. As the waterfall’s droplets hit your face, closing your eyes in that moment washes away all urban fatigue, hurried schedules, and mental noise. This is not just a tourist spot; it’s a soulful immersion. Travel Tips · Driving Directions: About a one-hour drive from Miyazaki City. Set your navigation to "Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge" as the starting point. · After reaching the bridge, drive slowly along the rural road towards the mountains. Look for a small wooden sign and a red torii gate on your right, marking the hidden path to Chihiro Falls. · The road is narrow; drive cautiously and visit during daylight for easier navigation. · The terrain around the waterfall is slippery; wear non-slip shoes and bring a change of clothes. Aya Town is more than just a place of suspension bridges and forests. It hides a secret waterfall that belongs to nature and travelers alike. You don’t need many reasons to visit—just slow down your pace, and you’ll discover that the most enchanting scenery always hides around the least conspicuous corners.
