Starting from Putou Town in Li County, crossing the Qionglai Mountains, and plunging into Jiesigou in Xiaojin County, the entire route is about 96 kilometers long. It was fully paved and opened to traffic in 2026, and can be driven by sedans. Five people in one car, 3 days and 2 nights, not rushing, not forcing your way into scenic spots, slowing down—that's the right way to experience this road. Pre-trip Preparations | This road isn't difficult, but it's riddled with potholes. Vehicles: The official description is "paved throughout, suitable for sedans," but some sections have sharp bends, steep slopes, and loose gravel, making SUVs more suitable. If your vehicle has a low chassis, avoid driving after rain; it shouldn't be a problem. Fill up your tank in Lixian or Xiaojin county before departure—there are no gas stations or shops along the entire Lixiao Road, so top up when your tank is below half full. Dawa Gengza, with its 360-degree viewing platform at an altitude of 3866 meters, is truly worth a visit. The sunrise and sea of clouds are breathtaking. If you can't get up early, you'll miss a lot. You take the park's shuttle bus up the mountain, and then transfer to a sightseeing bus after getting off. You don't have to walk much to ascend from an altitude of 2500 meters to 3800 meters. Definitely worth a second visit.

This time when I went to Baoxing, Ya'an, I saw the monument of the Red Army crossing Jiajin Mountain and decided to drive over Jiajin Mountain. Of course, this can't be compared with the difficulties of the Red Army's Long March, but it is just a physical examination from another perspective. Jiajin Mountain is high and densely forested, with a changeable climate. The highest altitude is more than 4,000 meters. During the driving process, I saw mountains connected to mountains, and there were distant mountains behind the nearby mountains, and higher mountains behind the high mountains. It is really hard to imagine how much hardship the Red Army suffered, and how strong their perseverance and faith were to persist until the founding of New China.

The refreshing mist at Xiangshuitan and Changhong Waterfall makes it feel several degrees cooler in summer than at the foot of the mountain. Shibali Xiangcao Valley offers opportunities for wading and water activities. It's also a renowned firefly base in Asia, where the forest is dotted with fireflies at night, creating a truly romantic atmosphere. The scenic area's shuttle bus is convenient, allowing you to hop on and off whenever you want if you don't want to walk the entire way. The only downside is that some sections of the trails are slippery, so remember to wear non-slip shoes. For a weekend getaway from the city to breathe fresh air, play in the water, and chase fireflies, this is the place to go!
徐革新Jiajinshan Yakou
Jiajin Mountain has an altitude of over 5,000 meters and is a famous snow-capped mountain in northwest Sichuan. It stands between Baoying County and Xiaojin County. It is the boundary mountain between Han and Tibetan areas in a humanistic sense. It was the Great Snow Mountain that the Red Army crossed during the Long March.

I have been wanting to come here for a very long time. The place us very big! The pandas were amazing. The view from the bamboo tower was spectacular. If you cannot walk long distsnces or hills, I would reccomend using the little bus that takes you round (additional cost)
