#summerinonecut My fave summer vibes in Corsica kick in when the delicate cherry blossoms take over the island—seriously, it's SO dreamy! 🌸 Start your adventure in Bastia, exploring the vibrant streets and chill parks. Bastia’s city center (Address: Place Saint-Nicolas, 20200 Bastia) is always buzzing, and it’s perf for grabbing a gelato before you set off. Next, cruise towards Calvi (Address: Avenue Christophe Colomb, 20260 Calvi), where cherry trees totally glow up the countryside. The views here are insane—get your camera ready because every shot is Instagram gold! 📸 After Calvi, hit up the villages of Castagniccia. Trust me, the panorama from here is breathtaking and the photo ops are endless. The cute village squares and rustic stone houses? Major fairytale energy. Wrap up your evening with a peaceful walk near Corte (Central Square Address: Place Paoli, 20250 Corte). The calm, mountain air and sunset hues make it the ultimate way to finish your day. 🌅 Corsica in summer isn’t just about beaches—it’s a cherry-blossom wonderland that’s all about the chill and amazing views!

#easytravelpost Scandola is a UNESCO reserve (1975) on the west coast, red porphyry cliffs, no roads in, no landing, no swimming in the core zone—only licensed boats from Porto (€35–€45/3 hrs), Calvi (€60–€110/4–7 hrs) or Ajaccio (€63–€120/8 hrs). I booked a 09:00 Porto hybrid boat (€45), circled the Gargalo islet and Girolata bay, back by 12:30 in May. The cliff moss is the porphyry seep-lines: Fissidens and Cratoneuron in the volcanic fault cracks where the rock weeps, Racomitrium on the wind-clipped ledges 40 m up, and the cave mouths (Grotte Azur) have Verrucaria black crust mixed with green Fissidens at the spray line. I shot the north wall at 10:00, the moss silver against crimson, an osprey off the ledge, a grouper shadow in the posidonia. Boats keep 50 m off the cliff, no anchor in the meadow—rangers fine. Mistake: I tried to swim off the bow inside the reserve—skipper pulled me back aboard, €150-equivalent lecture; swim only outside the boundary near Girolata. Another: I booked a 14:00 Calvi departure in July and it sold out—book the night before, morning sea is calmer anyway. Would you boat Scandola from Porto at 09:00 for the porphyry-moss seep and osprey, or skip the reserve and do Calanques de Piana by land for free?

A superb destination for outdoor exploration and extreme challenges. After our flight arrived in Ajaccio, we rented a car and drove to Cargèse, a journey of about two and a half hours. We stopped at a restaurant called "Petit Peri" along the way, where we had lunch. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the environment was comfortable and reassuring – highly recommended! Upon arriving in Cargèse, our rented apartment was near the coast, within walking distance of the beach. The bright sun, azure sky, and crystal-clear water created a breathtaking scene. Soaking in the cool water on a hot summer day was incredibly pleasant. The next day, we found a dive center and enjoyed diving together. Since the dive center did not provide life jackets, this activity is not recommended for those who are not good swimmers or divers. However, if you love diving 🏊🏻, it's definitely worth a try (diving costs approximately €60 per person). After diving in the morning, we returned to our accommodation for a short rest before setting off on a hike ⛰. The round trip took about three hours. The initial path was relatively flat, but it became quite steep near the summit, so hiking boots are recommended. Despite the fatigue, the views from the top were absolutely stunning – well worth it. On the third day, we traveled to Calvi and stayed in an old, dual-use military and civilian castle 🏰 (Calvi Castle, Citadelle de Calvi). The scenery there was breathtaking, a beautiful coastal city. We strolled around the castle that day and then went for another swim at the beach 🏊🏻♀️. On the fourth day, we drove to L'Île-Rousse, where we strolled around, enjoyed seafood, hiked, and sang in the sun. (The town sells local jewelry made of coral.) En route, we decided to stop by the town of Lumio. While not famous, Lumio is full of delightful little moments. It boasts numerous charming shops and hiking trails (moderately challenging, suitable for beginners). I even bought some honey in a shop; the honey here has a unique flavor (rich, slightly bitter yet subtly sweet), which locals say is a characteristic of the local honey. Afterwards, we concluded our coastal city tour and headed to Corte. Nestled deep in the mountains, Corte offers a unique beauty despite the lack of a vast ocean view. Next, we went to Venaco, an extremely tiny town. If you're looking for something special, it's the perfect choice if you love natural scenery and enjoy hiking in the mountains. We hiked to a nearby waterfall, played in the water, and thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility. On our last day, we returned to Ajaccio and explored the city. Our hotel was also very close to the airport, just a 30-minute walk away. During this trip north, I didn't see a single Asian face; I was practically the only Asian traveler I encountered. Perhaps this is influenced by recommendations on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), where most tourists seem to prefer the south over the north.

In the coastal town of Calvi in France, the Musée de Calvi offers a quiet, almost suspended encounter with art and time. Inside, the atmosphere is hushed. Stone walls and old architectural frames soften the daylight, allowing it to fall in thin, filtered layers across the exhibition rooms. The result is not a dramatic spotlight, but a gentle diffusion — as if light itself has slowed down. Among the works displayed, the sculptures of Camille Claudel stand out with particular intensity. Her piece “Jeune Romain” (“Young Roman”) embodies a tension between stillness and inner movement — marble shaped into a form that feels almost alive in its restraint. Rather than overwhelming the viewer, the museum encourages proximity. You move slowly between pieces, and the space seems to respond in kind. Shadows shift across stone surfaces, and the boundary between object and atmosphere becomes less defined. What makes this experience memorable is not scale or grandeur, but intimacy — the sense that art here is not displayed, but gently held within the building’s quiet rhythm. 📍 Location: Calvi, Corsica, France 🏛️ Highlight: Musée de Calvi 🗿 Known for: Sculptural works including pieces by Camille Claudel 💡 Travel tip: Allow time in silence — the museum reveals itself more through stillness than through speed. In Calvi, even marble feels like it is breathing slowly.

Founded in the 13th century, Calvi is located on the northwest coast of Corsica, France, the fourth-largest island in the Mediterranean. The Republic of Genoa established a closed city center here in 1278 and built a new castle in 1491 to accommodate new artillery technology. Today, the castle is Calvi's landmark and a must-see. The city's motto, "Calvi le Faithful," originally referred to its loyalty to the Republic of Genoa. The motto originated in 1553, when Calvi, with the help of Corsican exiles, repelled two attacks by the French and the Turks. However, in 1768, the city, along with Corsica, was sold to the French by its loyal Republic of Genoa. The city was officially annexed to France in 1769. On August 15 of that year, Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the most prominent figures in modern French history, was born in Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica. The castle in Figure 1 is a 13th-century Genoese castle (Figures 1-3). It's also the birthplace of Christopher Columbus (Figure 8), and his statue is located near the castle. #Corsica #OverseasTravel #Mediterranean #IslandHoliday #Island #IslandTour #EuropeTravel #EuropeanTown #FrenchTown #france #corsica #calvi
The queue was quite long, and you need to make sure you're in the correct line before you start queuing… Queues at tourist attractions in Europe often consist of several separate lines with unclear signage. I didn't choose to climb the bell tower or the dome, but the museum included in the ticket is worth a good look; personally, I felt the environment was quite nice.
Anonymous usersuch a lovely place, the duomo or cathedral is very big that I cannot take a picture of the whole cathedral. Even if I have seen it several times I always love to visit and see it again and again.
Blessed by GodThe explanation was incredibly detailed and insightful; it truly lives up to its reputation as a World Heritage Site. Thank you to the Medici family for their wise decision to leave us such priceless treasures. Exploring the world on foot, I successfully checked off this charming and artistically rich ancient city. I love it! 😻
