Visit Meihong Mountain, Experience the Gentleman’s Spirit — traveler post in Daye

Visit Meihong Mountain, Experience the Gentleman’s Spirit

Meihong Mountain Travelogue: A Leisurely Escape in the "Back Garden of Huangshi" in Southeastern Hubei — A National 3A Scenic Spot, Rated in 2016, Located in Aotou Village, Lingxiang Town, Daye City, About a 40-Minute Drive from Daye Urban Area. Departure: From Daye North Station heading southwest, diving into the greenery of Lingxiang Town Leaving Daye North Station, drive along S315 towards Lingxiang Town. Once you pass Lingluo Road and turn into the Meihong Tunnel, your phone signal starts to waver, and the mountain terrain suddenly steepens — Meihong Mountain has arrived. The scenic area covers 13.6 square kilometers, with the highest peak at 826 meters above sea level. It has a subtropical monsoon climate. Official data states the peak summer temperature is 32°C, with a 3-6°C temperature difference between the mountain top and base, making it a well-known local summer retreat. A friend in the car joked, "This is basically Huangshi’s 'Guling.'" Tickets cost 35 RMB (subject to occasional adjustments on Trip.com/official sources), parking is 5 RMB/day, which is quite reasonable for a 3A-level site. Chapter 1: Lexin Lake and the Hundred-Step Wishing Bridge The first stop after entering the mountain is Lexin Lake — a natural lake covering over 50 acres, surrounded by mountains on two sides, with water as still as a piece of jade. The lake has wild fish, said to be "naturally and purely grown according to natural laws," and whether you catch any depends on luck. A Hundred-Step Wishing Bridge (also called a suspension bridge or cable-stayed sky bridge) stretches across the lake, connecting two mountain bodies. Walking on it, you feel a slight sway; looking down, you see the lake water, and looking up, the green waves of bamboo groves and plum gardens. The middle of the bridge is the best photo spot — wear light-colored clothes and shoot against the light to fool your friends on social media with comments like "I’m in Switzerland." A few steps beyond the bridge is Leshan Lake (over 20 acres), slightly smaller than Lexin Lake. Nearby vegetable fields supply the scenic area’s farmhouse restaurant with fresh produce — cabbage, radishes, and chili peppers are freshly picked from the fields, which is a big plus and will be mentioned later when talking about food. Chapter 2: Plum Garden, Bamboo Forest, and the 826-Meter Breeze Meihong Mountain’s name is well-earned, with plum gardens, bamboo groves, and pine and fir forests as the main vegetation: the entire mountain has 16,000 acres of forest, including 2,000 acres of pine forest, 1,500 acres of fir forest, 1,000 acres of bamboo forest, 300 acres of fruit trees, and 200 acres of tea plantations. · Late winter to early spring (February to March) is the plum garden’s prime time, with red and white plum blossoms blooming in succession along the mountain paths; · Summer is for enjoying the bamboo forest and pine breeze; spending some time at the 826-meter peak’s wind station can reduce the heat brought from Wuhan by half; · In autumn, you can ask local homestays about tea-picking experiences near the tea plantations — not the main attraction but still fun. From the summit, you can overlook the villages of Lingxiang Town and the distant outline of Leishan in Chengui Town. On clear days, you can see the traffic on the Daguang Expressway crawling like beetles — this feeling of "being in the mountains with the world at your feet" is Meihong Mountain’s most underrated selling point. Chapter 3: Meihong Eco Hotel, Turning "Mountain Living" into a Four-Star Experience What makes Meihong Mountain special is that it’s not just a natural scenic spot to visit and leave; it also features the Meihong Eco Hotel, a registered four-star hotel. The hotel offers over 160 rooms and suites, including standalone wooden villas, presidential suites, lake-view and mountain-view rooms. The Chinese restaurant can accommodate 1,000 guests. There’s also a five-star farmhouse courtyard, a CS (combat simulation) battlefield, gym, KTV, team-building activities, fishing, and wellness center. In other words: Chapter 4: Dining at the Mountain Base · Lingxiang Town, nestled by the mountain, offers signature dishes like native chicken soup, bamboo shoot braised pork, and smoked cured meat; · The vegetables from Leshan Lake’s fields are freshly stir-fried and perfect with rice. After dinner, take a stroll along the lakeside trail. At night, Meihong Mountain is extremely quiet, with only the sounds of insects and wind rustling through the bamboo groves — a kind of tranquility you won’t find in Huangshi city. Details Location: Aotou Village, Lingxiang Town, Daye City (navigate to "Meihong Mountain Scenic Area" or "Meihong Tunnel") Rating: National 3A Ticket Price: 35 RMB/person (subject to the scenic area’s daily announcement; there have been free or reservation-based fluctuations) Opening Hours: Open all day (Visitor Center 8:00 AM - around 5:30 PM) Driving Route (from Wuhan): Wuhan Third Ring Road → Wuhuang/Wuhe Expressway → transfer to Daguang Expressway (Xinyu/Daye direction) → 3 KM before Daye Jinniu Exit, turn towards Xianning Jiayu → exit at Chengui Town → turn left off the highway → Lingxiang Town → Aotou Village Meihong Resort Hotel Public Transport: Take bus 802 from Daye urban area to "Meihong Mountain Station," about 40 minutes Best Seasons: Late winter to early spring (February-March) for plum blossoms | Summer for cooling off | Autumn for tea picking Suitable For: Family summer retreats (826m elevation is not steep, suitable for leisure) Suggested Itinerary If you include Meihong Mountain in your overall Daye/Huangshi trip, you can arrange it like this: 1. Daye city center → Tonglvshan Ancient Copper Mine Site → Leishan Scenic Area (4A, known for unique stones) 2. Meihong Mountain (Lexin Lake + Wishing Bridge + summit) → on the way back, you can detour to Longfeng Mountain (4A) or return to Daye for hot soup noodles Meihong Mountain is not a "must-check-off" breathtaking attraction, but it excels in relaxation — the mountain isn’t too high, the lakes aren’t too large, the hotel is four-star, and the food is clean and fresh. It’s perfect for locals from Wuhan, Huangshi, and Daye who want a weekend getaway without traveling far but still want to escape for a couple of days.

A Forgotten Ancient Village by Time, Your Ideal Place for Time Travel — traveler post in Daye

A Forgotten Ancient Village by Time, Your Ideal Place for Time Travel

Travel Notes of Shangfeng Ancient Village: In the "Nine Ancient Marvelous Villages," Walk Through Six Hundred Years of Time at a Leisurely Pace Location: No. 1 Shangfeng Village, Jinhu Street, Daye City, Huangshi City, Hubei Province Rating: National 4A (officially rated in December 2025) | China Traditional Village · China Historical and Cultural Village Tickets: The ancient village itself is free to enter (parking about 10 RMB/car), experience projects are charged separately Before Entering the Village: A 600-Year-Old Village Hidden in the Mountains Heading south from Daye city center, about a fifteen-minute drive, the cityscape is swallowed by mountains. After the last turn, blue tiles and gray walls emerge from the woods—Shangfeng Ancient Village, locally known as the "Nine Ancient Marvelous Villages." At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the Feng ancestors settled here among the mountains and waters, living here for over six hundred years. Villagers say they are descendants of Feng Jing, the top scholar of the Northern Song Dynasty, the one "mistakenly called Ma Liang"—regardless of genealogical proof, the scholarly and farming heritage is truly engraved in every blue brick. Act One: Bluestone Slabs Are the Keys of Time At the village entrance stands a millennium-old Chinese cornel tree (locally called "Thousand-Year-Old Tree Dad"), the first shock. The tree trunk is thick, the canopy umbrella-like, branches reaching skyward like a dragon’s claw refusing to touch the ground. A protective pavilion is built beside it—the old trunk is gone, but the petrified roots remain gnarled, silent yet powerful. Stepping into the village, the ground beneath your feet changes texture immediately: the bluestone slab road is polished smooth and shiny by countless footsteps, uneven like piano keys, each step playing the "bass notes." On both sides are over 40 Ming and Qing dynasty ancient residences, mainly Huizhou-style horse-head walls and white walls with dark tiles, mixed with the simple and sturdy Gan style—narrow door lintels, high thresholds, upturned eaves, like rows of old dreams unwilling to wake. Act Two: The Nine Ancients Are Alive, Not Just for Show The "Nine Ancients" of Shangfeng are not just slogans in a tour guide; you will encounter them as you walk through the village: Nine Ancients | How to Encounter | Feeling Ancient Residences | Grand official mansions, top scholar’s old homes... brick and wood structures, carved beams and painted rafters, exquisite courtyard drainage | When stepping over the high threshold, you smell the scent of old wood Ancient Trees | Millennium cornel tree + over 40 century-old camphor and maple trees | The shade feels like another season Ancient Wells | Spring well—still gushing water, so clear you want to cup a drink | "Gurgling," villagers still use it Ancient Stone Mill | Stone mill lying flat on the ground, nearly four meters in diameter | Imagine six hundred years of rice being milled here Ancient Paths | Bluestone ancient path on the back mountain, leading to Jiangxi, once a salt merchant route between Gan and E provinces | Deep in the grass, traces stubbornly remain Ancient Ancestral Halls / Ancient Steles / Ancient Ditches / Ancient Tombs | Scattered in alleys, hillsides, and wall bases | Not dramatic, but authentic I squatted by the spring well for a while. Water gushes up from stone cracks, overflowing the well edge and flowing along ancient ditches—this well neither dries up nor smells, nor pretends; it is like a living organ of the village, still beating. Act Three: The Old Village’s "New Way of Life"—Micro Renovation, Fine Enhancement The most precious thing about Shangfeng is that it was upgraded to 4A without turning into a commercial ancient street that empties villagers and replaces them with Hanfu rentals. The renovation logic is "micro renovation · fine enhancement"—the old auditorium became the Nine Ancients Storytelling Hall, electricity was installed under the ancient trees without damaging roots to create Big Tree Coffee, a derelict red brick house was transformed into a half-slope courtyard tea space, villagers donated old items to create the Shangfeng Memory Museum inside ancient residences, and a top scholar cake shop opened (combining Huangshigang cakes with top scholar culture). I ordered an iced brew at Big Tree Coffee and sat under the tree—above me were 600-year-old branches and leaves, in front of me rows of blue tiles, and around me the sound of wind through leaves and occasional voices from the ancestral hall. This coexistence of old and new without conflict is why it deserves the 4A rating. Act Four: Going Outward—Tianchi, Bamboo Sea, and Glass Sky Bridge If you only stroll through the ancient alleys, two to three hours is enough; if you want to explore the surroundings, it’s recommended to stay half a day or more: · Lushangjing Tianchi (Heavenly Pool Scenic Spot): A jade-green mountain pool, quiet, pure, with perfect reflections, a prime photo spot · Jinling Bamboo Sea: Tens of thousands of acres of bamboo forest, the whole mountain breathes with the wind, perfect for slow walks, daydreaming, and martial arts style photos · Yunhai Glass Sky Bridge / High-altitude Glass Rafting / Colorful Slide: Experience projects inside the scenic area; the timid can watch from afar, thrill-seekers can buy single tickets Before Leaving: The Weight of a Bowl of Firewood Rice Crust Porridge Lunch was at a farmhouse restaurant at the village entrance—firewood rice crust porridge, stir-fried local greens, spicy shredded pork, glutinous rice meatballs, simple but solid. The owner pointed to their old wall and said, "Over a hundred years old," as if it were yesterday. Looking back before leaving: The couplet at the village entrance reads—"Benevolent waters and kind mountains, not failing the wandering heart; morning sun and evening glow, forever leaving the beautiful days of old friends." The six hundred years of stone won’t answer you, but it firmly catches the sound of your footsteps as you walk. Quick Practical Information Item | Details Tickets | Ancient village itself free (parking about 10 RMB/car); experience projects (glass sky bridge/rafting, etc.) charged separately Opening Hours | About 08:30–17:00 (subject to daily scenic area announcements) Address | No. 1 Shangfeng Village, Jinhu Street, Daye City; search "Shangfeng Ancient Village Ecotourism Area Visitor Center" for navigation How to Get There | Self-driving is most convenient: about 1.5 hours from Wuhan; taxi about 25 minutes from Daye North Station; also accessible by bus No. 101 (Daye North Station → Scenic Area, about 50 minutes/2 RMB) Recommended Duration | Leisurely stroll 2–4 hours (including surrounding Tianchi and Bamboo Sea, half a day or more) What Shoes to Wear | Soft-soled, non-slip! Bluestone roads are beautiful but hard on feet and slippery after rain Shangfeng is still a living village, with some ancient residences inhabited—please be mindful of drying clothes and privacy before taking photos, do not climb walls or step on vegetable fields. The ancient trees are even more stubborn than people; do not climb or carve on them—they really "feel pain."

Secret Valley Oxygen-Drunk Journey — traveler post in Daye

Secret Valley Oxygen-Drunk Journey

Longfeng Mountain Chronicle: The "One Red One Green" of Liurenba Town, a 4A Slow Life Hidden in the Mountain Hollow Destination: Longfeng Mountain Scenic Area, Liurenba Town, Daye City (National 4A) Suitable pace: Half day to one day (stay overnight for comfort: camping on the mountain top / homestay at the foot) Keywords: Red Memory × Hydrangea Sea × Fruit Picking Fragrance × Mountain Wild Oxygen Bar Departure: Depart from Huangshi, entering Daye’s South Gate We chose Saturday, leaving Huangshi city in the morning, taking the Daguang Expressway (towards Guangzhou/Xinyu) → exit at Yinzu → pass Yinzu Town and turn into Liurenba Town, the country roads get greener and greener. The most reliable navigation endpoint is to search directly for "Longfeng Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Reception Center" (there is also a version called "Shuanggangkou No.14"). If not driving: theoretically, you can take bus 18 → transfer to Daye city bus → from Daye Bus Station take the Daye–Liurenba bus → then transfer to village transport, but honestly—this route is more suitable for locals familiar with the roads. For outsiders, carpooling or driving is highly recommended for convenience. At the scenic area entrance, the air already feels noticeably different: cooler by a layer, a bit more humid, with the scent of pine and earth. We followed the recent common discount policy for tickets—listed price 80 RMB, often 40 RMB during promotions, or 40 RMB can be used as a credit for dining/accommodation; current middle and high school exam candidates with admission tickets can enter free. Operating hours 08:00-17:00. First stop: Read the "Red" first—Southeast Hubei Red Memorial Hall & Generals’ Corridor Longfeng Mountain is not just a leisure park with flower seas and slides; its foundation is the hardcore history of the old red revolutionary base in Liurenba. We first visited the Southeast Hubei Red Memorial Hall, then slowly walked along the Generals’ Style Corridor: rows of faces and brief biographies on the wall, reading it feels less like a "museum check-in" and more like an audio version of local revolutionary history. Nearby are the Historical Memory Collection Hall (old anthologies, tickets, old newspapers, comic books, and period artifacts) and the Jiangnan Farming Culture Exhibition Hall. After the visit, you get a strange "time folding" feeling: just now you were looking at rough relics from wartime, and in the blink of an eye, you’re off to pick tomatoes. If you are more focused on the "Red Third Army Corps" line, you can also include the Red Third Army Corps Founding Site/Memorial Hall in the first half of the same day—it’s in Liurenba Town and is a convenient stop "since you’re already here." Second stop: Head up the mountain—Longfeng Xianling Park · Fengtou Pavilion · Flower Slope The main peak of Longfeng Mountain is about 400-500 meters high, not "dangerous," but continuous and wild. We parked near the transfer/ascending trail and started walking around Longfeng Xianling Park: · Climb a section of stone steps to Fengtou Pavilion/mountain top viewing point, the wind suddenly picks up, and the mountain shapes spread out through the tree gaps—terraced fields in color blocks, reservoir reflections, gray rooftops of Liurenba Town in the distance, like an old map warmed by the sun. · Follow the signs towards Longfeng Lianxin Valley and Longfeng Heavenly Pool, with small story plaques popping up along the way (Ox Nose Hole "Ox Nose Moisture," Bao’en Pagoda…), even if you don’t believe the legends, you’ll feel the mountain is willing to tell stories. We happened to catch the tail end of the flower season: hydrangeas (Endless Summer, Flower Ball types) in blue, purple, pink, and white spread across the hillside, wooden plank paths running through the flowers, the breeze makes the whole mountain gently breathe—no filter needed for photos, but it’s recommended to visit before 10 a.m. or after 3:30 p.m. for softer light and better skin texture. Third stop: The countryside set—Picking garden → Soilless cultivation → "Rustic sophistication" at the eco-restaurant After descending, we didn’t rush to leave, letting the "green" fill our stomachs: · Orchard/field picking: different fruits in different seasons, but that "branch warmth + fruit frost + hand-picked sweetness" can’t be replicated by supermarkets. · Soilless cultivation experience garden / Novel vegetable sightseeing garden: lemon scent, colorful peppers, snake gourds that "grow wildly"—adults see technology, kids see fantasy. · Lunch at the eco-restaurant inside the scenic area (greenhouse style, with artificial hills and streams for a "wild indoor" feel), the dishes aren’t fancy, but things like sweet potato noodles with braised pork, wild vegetables, native chicken soup, and rice cakes taste of "local short supply chains"—you’ll clearly feel this is not a plating victory, but the ingredients winning. Optional extras: If you want to maximize the "thrill" · Paragliding (circular flight base) / High-altitude wire (Sky Fairy): budget accordingly, common prices around 680–780 RMB/person, and all depends on weather; if the wind isn’t right, you might not fly— · Mountain top camping base: Longfeng Mountain has several camping spots (Xiping/Nanya/Dongbian’nao, etc.), if you want to see stars and wait for sunrise, this is a very cost-effective choice near the Huangshi area. · International fishing center: if you’re a fishing enthusiast, this is actually a hidden main task. Return trip: On the way down, you’ll find the best view of Longfeng Mountain isn’t a single "highlight," but its "density." It stacks red narratives, mountain climbing, flower slope photography, family picking, farmhouse dining and lodging, team building, and study tours all in one mountain hollow. Walking at a relaxed pace, stopping is never boring. Perfect for those who— "Don’t want to travel too far but want their mind to switch from buzzing to rustling (leaf sounds)" on a weekend. 1. Driving preferred: Navigate to "Longfeng Mountain Visitor Reception Center." 2. Time: 08:00-17:00; for flower sea and valley light, before 10 a.m. or after 3:30 p.m. is best for photos. 3. Tickets: Recent common discounts/credits (40 RMB tier or 40 RMB credit) depend on the day’s notice at the entrance; special groups free with valid documents. 4. Clothing: Cooler in the mountains than the city, summer still recommend a light jacket + non-slip shoes; mosquitoes are present during flower season/summer-autumn, bring repellent. 5. Route order: · Red priority: "Southeast Hubei Red Memorial Hall → Generals’ Corridor → (optional Red Third Army Corps site)" · Then up the mountain: "Longfeng Xianling Park → Fengtou Pavilion view → Lianxin Valley/Heavenly Pool direction" · After descending: "Picking/soilless cultivation → eco-restaurant → (paragliding/fishing/camping)"

Explore ancient sites, appreciate unique stones, hike mountains, enjoy water and hot springs — traveler post in Daye

Explore ancient sites, appreciate unique stones, hike mountains, enjoy water and hot springs

Huangshi Daye · Leishan Scenic Area (Xiao Leishan) Travelogue|A stone mountain "struck by lightning," only after climbing it do you understand what "stone elegance and mountain spirit" means A quick note before departure: When people say "going to Leishan," they mostly mean hiking Xiao Leishan plus the unique stone trail; it, along with the nearby Daqianggou (stream canyon) and Tiantai Mountain (Buddhist culture oriented), all belong to the 4A-rated "Leishan Scenic Area." How to get there: From Daye city to Chengui Town, a very smooth route Leishan is located about 15 kilometers west of Daye city within Chengui Town. Taking the Dajin Provincial Road direction is very convenient. Just navigate directly to "Leishan Scenic Area / Xiao Leishan Village." That day I parked near the main entrance parking lot of the scenic area. Entering the mountain: Longfeng Pond, a basin of still water, first silences the city noise Not far from the entrance is Longfeng Pond: the water is a quiet, greenish stillness, stone walls seep water, moss covers the old rocks, as if someone turned the volume knob down to the lowest. The legends by the pond are better left untold, but it truly is a great "entry state" point—you realize this mountain isn’t made by green trails and railings, but lives through stones and spring energy. Uphill section: Bamboo forest—Ancient Instruction Hall—Nine Dragon Pillars—Heavenly Pool, the most "cultured" segment From Longfeng Pond, follow the trail uphill, soon passing through a slope mixed with camphor trees and bamboo, light and shadow scattered on the stone steps, with occasional small streams flowing along stone grooves at your feet. Further up is a more "dignified" platform area where you can see the Ancient Instruction Hall (also called the Fangguang Cave side building group): a rectangular ancient-style hall, surrounded in front by Nine Dragon Pillars, with a small Heavenly Pool reflecting the flying eaves—the sudden contrast of "a courtyard appearing on the mountainside" is one of Leishan’s most distinctive qualities. From here, the steps become denser and steeper: the Hundred-step Cloud Ladder tests your rhythm, just don’t rush. Summit: View the "chessboard world" from Leifeng Tower The summit landmark is Leifeng Tower (nine-story pagoda). The tower isn’t tall, but the view from the top is well worth it: Below are the undulating stone ridges of Leishan itself, distant villages and towns arranged like chess pieces between fields and reservoirs, the Changgang water system reflecting light—you’ll understand why ancestors chose to build the tower here: it’s not for "check-in height," but more like setting a coordinate for the entire mountain. (The tower’s interior space is limited; be courteous when crowded; don’t linger too long on the top floor in strong winds.) Descending to see the "stone play": Stone City, Stone Waves, Stone Lions, Stone Stalactite Capstones... Leishan’s essence is stone It’s best not to retrace your steps on the way down—the essence of Leishan isn’t how high you climb, but the imagination sparked by the strange stone formations: · Stone City/Stone Cannon/Stone Waves, where entire rock surfaces look like frozen shockwaves · Stone Stalactite Capstone: a huge rock seemingly "held up by a stone stalactite," appearing precarious but actually stable, a must-stop photo spot · Stone Pine: an old pine growing against a cliff, its branches shaped like props from a martial arts story The charm of these sights is that if you change your angle and take a few steps, the stones show a different face. Want to soak in hot springs too? Leishan Hot Springs is another "relaxation line" Within the Leishan system is the Leishan Hot Spring Resort (outdoor pools/swimming pools, etc.), perfect for turning a "sweaty hike" into a "rejuvenating soak" slow itinerary; but it’s a different pace from hiking, so don’t try to cram both into the same afternoon. Quick practical info (organized by official standards) Item Key Points Location Within Chengui Town, Daye City, about 15 km west of the city Rating National 4A-level tourist area (provincial scenic spot/provincial forest park) Composition Xiao Leishan / Daqianggou / Tiantai Mountain three major areas Tickets (common notice at Xiao Leishan/main entrance) Adults about 26-30 RMB (channel price often 25 RMB); free for 70+, half price for 60-70, details per window notice Opening Hours (common standard) About 08:00–17:00 (some say 07:00 open/16:30 last entry, varies by season, check entrance notice) Physical Demand Route is not long but steps are steep, wear good-grip shoes; bring water in summer, steps slippery after rain Recommended Duration Pure Xiao Leishan hike 2–3 hours; add Daqianggou/hot springs for a half-day to full day

Hubei · Huangshi | A city of "half mountains, half steel" — traveler post in Daye

Hubei · Huangshi | A city of "half mountains, half steel"

During the National Day holiday, I visited relatives in Huangshi and took my child to see where his father grew up. This is an old industrial city surrounded by the Yangtze River and mountains. It is only a 30-minute high-speed train ride from Wuhan, yet it feels like another world: residential buildings are built along the mountains, staggered and compact, where industrial heritage and daily life coexist with nature. 🏞️ Huangshi overview Location: Huangshi is located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The urban area features rolling mountains, dotted with Ci Lake and Qingshan Lake, forming a unique layout of "mountains in the city, city by the river." Transportation: Approx. 80 km from Wuhan; ~30 minutes by high-speed train, ~1 hour by car Tags: Hometown of Bronze | Cradle of Steel | Home of Cement | Capital of Jingjiu 📸 City highlights 1️⃣ The rugged industrial character of the city Daye Special Steel: One of the birthplaces of China's modern steel industry, where century-old furnace fires still burn. Huaxin Cement: Founded in 1907, known as the "cradle of China's cement industry." Jing Brand Co., Ltd.: A leader in the health liquor industry. The slogan "Jingjiu is good, but don't overindulge" is a household name. Tonglushan Ancient Copper Mine Site, dating back about 3,000 years, bears witness to the brilliance of China's Bronze Age civilization. 2️⃣ A landscape where mountains and water blend Xisai Mountain stands by the river. The famous lines "White egrets fly before Xisai Mountain, peach blossoms and flowing water, mandarin fish are fat" describe this very place. River boats, cliffs, and white egrets form a natural landscape painting. Ci Lake is a large lake in the city. Walking along the lake in the evening, with the sunset reflecting on the water and the distant mountains silhouetted against the sky, is the most everyday romance for locals. The "Asia's No. 1 Sinkhole" in the Mining Park offers a different kind of awe, where industrial traces interweave with natural vegetation, creating a rugged and magnificent sight. 3️⃣ A city where old and new intersect In the old town, slopes, old buildings, red-brick factories, and old signs remain. Turn around, and you can see new real estate developments, greenways, cafes, and young faces. Huangshi is not in a hurry to tear down the past. Instead, it integrates industrial memories into new life, giving the city grit, just like the people who live here—distinctive and full of character. 🌟 Summary If you stay in Huangshi for a day, you might want to visit the Huaxin 1907 Cultural Park, which is free to enter. You can also go to the Xisai Mountain Scenic Area to climb up and overlook the rushing Yangtze River. Or, choose to walk around the old town; time has left deep marks on these buildings, settling the glory of the city's past development. Entering a city means understanding the living environment of a group of people. A city is closely related to the people who live and grow up in it. This kind of observation adds a layer of intriguing depth to travel.

Huangshi National Mine Park

Overall, it was a very impressive experience. However, there were many disappointments. Apart from the sinkhole, all other attractions were closed due to rain (we were unlucky), but the "Underground Exploration" attraction was still selling tickets, which I didn't understand. Furthermore, the staff explained that people over 55 years old were not allowed to participate in this experience. The information was somewhat confusing. The park did make efforts to meet visitor needs, but the poor work attitude of a few staff members, and their harsh tone of voice, made for a less than pleasant experience.

Yellowstone OCT Dinosaur Wonderland Scenic Area · Dinosaur Dreamworks

There's an OCT (Overseas Chinese Town) near my home, which is sure to be crowded during the May Day holiday. Overcrowded attractions like these don't offer a great experience. So, I chose Huangshi instead, and it proved to be the right decision. The overall environment is very nice, and the route is quite reasonable. Although I didn't do much planning, it was easy to avoid missing anything along the way. There are plenty of snacks and restaurants, which is very convenient. The staff were also very friendly, and even for the extra-cost activities like VR, go-karting, and balloon popping, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were very helpful.

Dongfang Mountain Scenic Spot

It is a mountain that is recommended to climb in the eastern Hubei region. It is free to enter the scenic area. If you are physically fit, the scenery along the way is worth climbing. If you are with children, you can take the scenic area tour bus or watch the immersive experience performance, which requires additional tickets.

Tonglvshan National Archaeological Site Park

It's definitely worth a visit. It's very well renovated. If you go here, you don't need to go to the Yellowstone Museum, which only explains copper smelting methods in the most detail.
