I have been to the museum several times and the sand artist was always away. He was away again on this trip, but an intern created some excellent paintings for us. Several people complained about the lighting. A museum that exhibits textiles needs lower lighting levels. The Vanuatu Museum has tried to address this by lowering the light levels and installing UV film on the cabinet glass. This combination makes the signs in the cabinets difficult to read at all. The museum needs to get some advice from museum experts in other Pacific countries on how to design better exhibits. The Lapita pottery is a treasure. Don't worry about the lights on it, so shine a light on these exhibits.
