Fei County is situated in the south of Shandong province near the city of Linyi. The area has a rich history and is the birthplace of the Tang dynasty politician and calligrapher Yan Zhenqing. It was also an important base for the Communists during the Chinese Civil War. The county boasts numerous historical attractions including Neolithic remains from the Danwenkou culture and Shang dynasty ruins. Popular destinations include Daqing Mountain, Tianmeng Tourist Area and Tashan Forest Park.
