This time, I traveled to Okinawa with a total of seven people: my wife, our two children, my parents, and my mother-in-law!
Our goal for this trip was to enjoy a luxurious villa stay and fully experience Okinawa's beautiful ocean.
Here is a look at what our 7-person trip to Okinawa was like!
Starting the trip with Okinawa cuisine! 🍚
On the first day, we flew from Kansai International Airport to Naha Airport!
We met up with my mother-in-law, who flew in from Takamatsu, at Naha Airport. From there, we headed to Nago City, where we’d be staying, in two rental cars.
...But first, we needed to eat!
For lunch, we went to an Okinawa restaurant that had great reviews.
🍚 Itoman Gyomin Shokudo
The exterior and interior were so stylish you wouldn't think it was a "shokudo" (local diner). It has spacious tatami seating, making it perfect for families.
The menu is extensive, with dishes like the "Imaiyu" (fresh fish) butter-grilled set, fish soup soba set, and squid ink soup set. Everything looked so delicious it was hard to choose.
After much deliberation, I ordered the fish soup soba set!
It came with tempura and was very filling. It was a great way to dive right into authentic Okinawan flavors!
With our excitement for Okinawa at a high, we finally headed toward our destination in Nago City.
It was about a 1.5-hour drive via the expressway.
Our accommodation: A luxury villa with a private pool! 🏨
When searching for a hotel, my priority was finding a place where all seven of us could stay in the same room.
Since it was a family trip, I wanted a place where we could all spend time together. I found a villa that hit the trifecta: price, location, and luxury!
Here is where we stayed!
🏨 Kanehide Kise Country Club
We booked the "Premium Cottage."
It was absolutely wonderful!
Believe it or not, it can accommodate up to 8 people and covers 112.4㎡!
There were 8 main beds and two full bathrooms.
Plus, it comes with a private pool and a BBQ space with a tent!
That's not all.
Breakfast was included, and there was even a public bath facility. Since it's located on a golf course, the surrounding scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.
And here is the room rate we paid!
91,500 JPY / night (after discount)
*Normal price without discount is 107,250 JPY.
Considering seven people can stay here with this much space and these amenities, I think the value for the money is incredible!
It really is the ideal place to stay for a large group.
Personally, this was one of the most satisfying hotel stays I've ever had!
Playing in the private pool as soon as we arrived! 🏊
Right after checking in, we headed straight for the pool in our room!
The pool was larger than I expected, and the kids were thrilled.
Of course, we ended up playing in the pool for over two hours—the usual routine, haha.
We hadn't planned on going to the beach on the first day, so I let them enjoy themselves here to their heart's content!
Dinner on the first night was all about Okinawan delicacies! 🦐
After the pool, we went out for dinner.
Since there aren't many restaurants right around the hotel, we drove about 7 minutes to this place!
🦐 Chura Hana Bettei
This restaurant offers a full range of Okinawan flavors, from traditional Ryukyu cuisine to Goya Champuru and Okinawa Soba.
It was the same when I went to Miyako Island, but on the first day of an Okinawa trip, you just really want to go to a place that feels uniquely Okinawan!
It really builds that "I'm finally in Okinawa!" mood, haha.
We were very satisfied with our dinner, enjoying local specialties like deep-fried Gurukun (banana fish) and Mozuku seaweed tempura!
A villa-exclusive treat! Roasting marshmallows by the fireplace 🍰
After dinner, we stopped at a convenience store to stock up on drinks and snacks for the evening before returning to the villa.
And here is the special villa treat!
🍰 Roasting marshmallows by the fireplace!
This was surprisingly so much fun, haha.
We all gathered around the fireplace in the garden, roasting marshmallows, talking, and drinking...
Man, it was a moment of pure bliss!
The kids were also totally focused on stuffing their faces with roasted marshmallows.
Being able to enjoy things like this—which are different from a standard hotel—is one of the best parts of staying in a villa!
🌊 Day 2: Enjoying the Okinawa sea at Sesoko Beach!
The next morning, we headed to Sesoko Beach!
It’s about a 40-minute drive from the hotel. We drove there while enjoying the coastal views along the way.
🌊 Sesoko Beach
The water here was incredibly clear and beautiful!
The sea at Miyako Island I visited before had an emerald green hue, but Sesoko Beach was a stunning, transparent light blue.
And there were so many fish!
It’s a perfect spot for snorkeling.
We explored a bit on a boat and took part in some boat activities. We ended up having so much fun that we stayed way longer than planned, haha.
Since I anticipated we’d be playing for a long time, I had brought some rice balls, so we actually ended up eating lunch right there at the beach... haha.
It was that kind of place—where you just get totally lost in the fun!
🏊♀️ Back to the pool after the beach!
After enjoying Sesoko Beach, we treated ourselves to some Blue Seal ice cream!
Once we got back to the room, the kids went right back to playing in the private pool.
Even after playing that much at the beach, they still had the energy for the pool...
Their stamina is truly infinite, haha.
❇️ Fully enjoying the luxury villa and the beautiful sea!
The "Kanehide Kise Country Club" we stayed at for this Okinawa trip was excellent in both location and room quality!
A 40-minute drive gets you to Sesoko Beach, famous for its beautiful Okinawan waters.
Of course, once you return to the hotel, you can play in the private pool, and at night, you can enjoy roasting marshmallows around the fire.
It was a place where we could truly soak in the tropical vacation vibes!
Even with a large group of seven, it was wonderful that we could all stay in the same villa and spend our time together.
It was such a fantastic villa that I would definitely want to stay there again the next time I visit Okinawa!
If you are planning a trip to Okinawa with a large group, I highly recommend this place!
