Linxia Prefecture

The Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River on the southwest side of central Gansu. Linxia has a long history and rich culture. It was an important location on the ancient Southern Silk Road and has been called the “dry port of the west.” The Three Gorges of the Yellow River Scenic Area is located in Yongjing County. It comprises numerous scenic sites including the Bingling Temple Grotto, Liujia Gorge, Yanguo Gorge, and the three hydroelectric stations at Bapan Gorge. Here you will also find famous attractions that attract visitors from far and wide, like the Songmingyan National Forest Park and the Jishixiong Pass.
