Canada Newfoundland Gros Morne: Green Gardens to Tablelands Serpentine Seafloor Walk — traveler post in Redcliffe

Canada Newfoundland Gros Morne: Green Gardens to Tablelands Serpentine Seafloor Walk

#arrivalguide I based in Woody Point and did Green Gardens and Tablelands on the same day—they sit 12 km apart on Route 431 but are geologically opposite worlds. Green Gardens trailhead (park at the lot 4 km south of Trout River) is a 9 km round trip: first across a stony riverbed that chews your soles, then two low hills (max 274 m), then a sudden drop to cliff-top meadows where sheep-cropped grass meets the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A wooden stair descends to a rocky beach—go at low tide or the sea caves are underwater. I ate lunch on the cliff edge in 14°C wind and watched fog peel off the tablelands across the bay. Then I drove to the Tablelands Trail (separate lot, 4 km round trip, flat). The orange-brown serpentine rock here is oceanic upper mantle pushed up by plate collision—you are literally walking on former seafloor, 500 million years old, so sterile that only lichens survive. No bugs, no shade, no water; bring 2 L and a hat. Gros Morne entry is $11.50/adult/day (Parks Canada pass, card or cash at the gate). A ranger told me May–June closes parts of the interior for caribou calving—check the notice board. My mistake: I tried to “connect” Green Gardens beach to Tablelands cross-country; impossible, the Trout River gorge blocks it. The two sites need separate visits. Question: does the lush Green Gardens meadow or the barren Tablelands seafloor feel more alien to you—and which one redefines what “mountain” means?

Australia/📸 Lakeside Cafes near Brisbane! Boardwalk Restaurant: Pet-Friendly and Relaxing Restaurant Guide🌞

From Brisbane city center, it only takes about 36 minutes to drive to the Boardwalk restaurant, which is about 36 kilometers away! This Cafe is connected to the North Lakes Hotel, which is conveniently packed ~ If you are dining by car, you can park directly for free, no need to worry about finding a parking space 👍 The restaurant has indoor and outdoor areas, and the outdoors is also a pet-friendly area🐶, so it's no problem to bring your dog together to chill and enjoy breakfast! Breakfast is 7:00-11:00 am and lunch is 11:00 am-1:30 pm Courtesy, the menu also states gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as some special orders for the elderly🌱. No wonder I see many grandparents and close friends coming to enjoy tea. It feels so warm🫖 The lake view is a must-try at Boardwalk restaurant! I came here to enjoy the lake view for dinner ~ The weather was super nice that day, sunny, plus beautiful lake view, really healing (the day before even hail, change super big! ☀️🌧️). When ordering fish and chips, I found that there are fried fish and grilled fish. Fortunately, the staff was very patient to explain and the service was excellent👌 After eating, you can go for a walk by the lake to chill and enjoy the view. If you have enough time, you can also walk next door to Lake Eden. There are swans, tortoises, and ducks by the lake to accompany you hea - it's super relaxing! [Boardwalk Restaurant Information Overview] Address: 22 Lakefield Dr, North Lakes, QLD 4509 Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 07:00 - 20:00 | Sunday 07:00 - 15:00 Don't miss this lake view cafe next time you visit Brisbane #November Good Places 2025 #discoversaudimoment #Brisbane great places to visit #brisbanecity #brisbane #lakeeden #boardwalk #northlakes

🫧The loneliest basketball court in Brisbane🏀🌊 — traveler post in Redcliffe

🫧The loneliest basketball court in Brisbane🏀🌊

Who hasn’t been to Redcliffe to see the sea? ! 🥹Although this place is for people without cars The taxis are not very friendly. It takes almost two hours to get there every time! From South Take the train from Brisbane to Sandgate Station and then transfer to bus 690 and ride for half an hour to Anzac Ave at Museum and Historical Society. It’s all worth it just to see the sea 😤! There seem to be fewer people on this waterfront than Shorncliffe and Wellington Point, but it may be because it is far away🤣.. However, when it comes to eating and drinking, I don’t seem to be very interested in the restaurants it opens every time. But there are many restaurants near the beach. I recommend that if you plan to stay for a whole day, you can also have a picnic there. WWS is also next door, so it’s very convenient! ! 😛We walked along the seaside and could see the sunset. But people without cars are advised not to wait until dark to leave because that area is full of white people. In short, it is highly recommended for everyone to come here. If you are interested, you can also bring a basketball to play in this 🏀 court surrounded by the sea! ! #Brisbane #Basketball

🇦🇺 Lovely Cafe in Woody Point, Queensland, Australia — traveler post in Redcliffe

🇦🇺 Lovely Cafe in Woody Point, Queensland, Australia

Cafe 3eightnine is located in Woody Point, a coastal suburb in the city of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia. It is approximately 35 minutes drive from Brisbane City. 🏞🌊 On a Saturday morning, the cafe is quite busy. The place was packed when we first arrived there. We are lucky enough to have a table reserved for 5 people at that time. Hence, booking a reservation is necessary during busy hours. ⚠️⏰️ The Egg's Benedict and Big Breakfast look and taste good. Sadly, they were already cold when the food reached our table. The hot and cold drinks were also amazing! Plus, the prices are affordable. ✅️💰 #localguides #familytrip #australia #queensland #woodypoint #moretonbay

My favourite restaurant in Redcliffe, QLD 🇦🇺

Sunny's Margaret Beach is one of the best dining places in Redcliffe, overlooking the beautiful Moreton Bay. It is very relaxing to have meals in here. The ambience is fantastic! They are open from 6:30am daily. We love having breakfast in here as they serve the best pancakes. The Egg's Benedict is also delicious! The servings are massive, so the food is worth the price. I definitely recommend this place! Address: 1 McCulloch Ave, Margate QLD 4019 #localguides #mytravelhacks #familytrip #queensland #australia #redcliffe

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Koalas are very cute, and you can take photos with them for an extra 35 AUD. However, you can't hold them. Kangaroos are very quiet and you can approach and pet them. The sheepdogs' herding show is quite good.

Shorncliffe Pier

A beach with few tourists, fresh and clean air, blue sky and white clouds. It feels good to come here for a walk! The vast ocean and the blue coast are very good! The surrounding transportation is convenient!
