One-day trip around Changchun | Yitong Volcano + Shenlu Peak hot spring route: geological wonders + mountain leisure This one-day route spanning Changchun and Siping offers a chance to explore rare volcanic geological features, immerse yourself in mountain forests, waterfalls, and animal interactions, and relax in a hot spring in the evening. It is perfect for educational trips and family leisure, best experienced in spring or autumn. Itinerary locations: Yitong Dagushan Volcano, Shenlu Peak Tourist Resort (Luming Valley, Diaoshuihu Waterfall, glass skywalk, Shenlu Peak Hot Spring) Depart from Changchun by car in the early morning and arrive at the first stop, Yitong Dagushan Volcano, in about 1 hour. As the core of the Yitong volcanic group, the Dagushan volcanic cone is spectacular, and the mountain's unique basalt columnar joints are a rare geological landscape. You can view the neatly arranged hexagonal basalt columns up close, with moss and small trees growing in the crevices, making it perfect for geological education and photo ops. In the early morning, mist covers the Northeast plains, and the morning glow sets off the volcano, making it great for drone shots and portraits. It is suitable for teaching children about volcano formation. At noon, head to a nearby farmhouse restaurant for lunch. We recommend Northeast farmhouse dishes: sauerkraut with pork, iron pot stew, raw vegetables with dipping sauce, and coarse grain corn pancakes. The ingredients are locally sourced and fresh, the dishes are prepared hygienically, and the portions are generous. Eat well and rest up to reserve energy for the afternoon. In the afternoon, drive to Shenlu Peak Tourist Resort. First, go to Luming Valley to interact with and feed the gentle sika deer, a popular highlight for family trips. Then, head to Diaoshuihu Waterfall. The canyon is lush with trees, the water pours down, and the Tyndall light effect in the forest creates a great atmosphere—cool and healing. If you have enough energy, you can challenge the glass skywalk at the top of the mountain. Standing on the cantilevered viewing platform overlooking the rolling mountains, the view is wide, thrilling, and stunning. At the blue hour of dusk, head to the resort's outdoor hot spring. The mountain hot spring is steaming, with warm lights paired with the silhouettes of distant mountains. Soaking in the hot spring amidst the mountain forest washes away the fatigue of a day's hiking. After that, return to Changchun, feeling fulfilled and relaxed. ⚠️Travel tips: Driving is recommended for the whole trip as public transport transfers are complicated. For hiking in the volcanic area, wear non-slip sports shoes. Please use the feed designated by the scenic area to feed the deer. The glass skywalk and hot spring are separate paid items. The temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountains is large, so prepare a thin jacket. 💰Cost reference: ¥260/person (includes one meal; excludes Shenlu Peak admission ticket, hot spring, glass skywalk, and other optional items) trip around Changchun Volcanic Group Dagushan Peak Tourist Resort family trip Shenlu Peak Hot Spring

You can observe the rock textures up close, with moss and small trees growing in the crevices—perfect for geological education and landscape photography. For lunch, head to a nearby farmhouse restaurant for authentic Northeast cuisine, such as iron pot stew, pork with pickled cabbage, farmhouse vegetable platter with dipping sauce, and corn flatbread. The ingredients are locally sourced, the food is prepared safely, and the portions are generous. After a satisfying meal, continue your journey. In the afternoon, head to Shenlu Peak Tourist Resort. First, visit Luming Valley to interact with and feed the gentle sika deer—a popular spot for family photos. Then, head to Diaoshuihu Waterfall, where the canyon is lush with trees and the cascading water creates a cool, healing atmosphere, often with Tyndall light beams filtering through the forest. If you have the energy, challenge yourself by climbing to the glass skywalk to overlook the rolling mountains from the cantilevered platform for a breathtaking view. Check into a hotel near the resort in the evening. For dinner, choose a local restaurant near the scenic area to enjoy home-style Northeast dishes. Day 2 Shenlu Peak leisure > Guoxin Nanshan Hot Spring, return to Changchun In the early morning, you can continue to explore Shenlu Peak, stroll along the forest trails, breathe in the fresh forest air, and photograph the morning light in the mountains. Finish your visit to Shenlu Peak in the morning and drive to Guoxin Nanshan Hot Spring. Guoxin Nanshan Hot Spring is built within a forest environment and features numerous indoor and outdoor pools surrounded by mountains and trees. Soak in the warm hot spring water while gazing at the green mountains to wash away the fatigue of two days of hiking. At blue hour, steam rises from the outdoor hot springs, and the warm lights blend with the mountain scenery, creating a perfect atmosphere. Have lunch at the hot spring resort restaurant, which offers a variety of light meals and home-style Northeast dishes with clean, safe ingredients. After resting in the afternoon, start your journey back to Changchun, concluding your relaxing two-day trip. ⚠️ Travel tips: Driving is recommended as cross-regional public transport transfers are complicated. Wear non-slip sneakers for hiking in the volcanic area. Only use the feed designated by the scenic area to feed the deer. The glass skywalk, hot springs, and accommodation are optional paid items. There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountains, so bring a light jacket. Remember to follow the hot spring resort's guidelines and avoid overeating before soaking. 💰 Cost reference: CNY 620/person (includes 3 meals + 1 night's accommodation; excludes scenic area admission tickets, glass skywalk, and other optional experience items) trip near Changchun Volcanic Group Dagushan Peak Tourist Resort Nanshan Hot Spring Shuangyang Tourism

M48***21Learn about red culture and enter the Siping Battle Memorial Hall. After upgrading and renovation in July 2023, it officially entered the theme exhibition of "Fighting for New China". From 1921 to 2023, from the Nanchang Uprising to the Long March, from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the War of Liberation, Northeast China, the lifeline of the motherland, has never been absent from the revolutionary forces fighting bloody battles for New China. Siping, as the most important transportation hub and strategic location in the central region of Northeast China, how can future generations forget the passion of the martyrs who sacrificed for peace. The theme exhibition uses a large amount of historical materials and objects to restore the tragic war past, and also shocks and educates the people who come to visit. The land we are standing on today is a home that has been baptized by fierce battles and rebuilt in the ruins. From March 1946 to March 1948, the KMT and the CPC successively mobilized a large number of troops and launched four major battles in Siping: the first was the Siping Liberation War; the second was the Siping Defense War; the third was the Siping Offensive War; and the fourth was the Siping Campaign. In these battles, both sides deployed a total of 400,000 troops and fought for a total of 52 days. This is the "Four Battles of Siping" that shocked China and the world. The Four Battles of Siping not only liberated Siping, but also had great significance for the liberation of the whole country.

M50***24It is worth recommending. It is a very nice place with pure natural scenery.
住住好了Dagushan is a nice scenic spot with fresh air and special snacks. The roasted pigeon is a must-try. I have only been there once with my friends. It was a pity that I went at night and missed the beautiful scenery. I only enjoyed the roasted pigeon.
M29***45From Siping Railway Station, head north and pass the Memorial Tower Road. The Siping City Museum is on the west side. The opening hours are different from what I checked on Baidu. The first stop in Siping was closed, so Baidu is terrible. The staff kept telling us that all museums are closed on Mondays... Luckily, I came out and found that the Siping Battle Memorial Hall was also closed for maintenance. Black Monday
逸香卿苑凄迷The standard currency in Siping is CNY
Current exchange rate approx.: USD ≈7.0CNY (actual exchange rates depend on the bank). Currency exchange tips:
1. Exchange currency at your local bank before departure, as rates are usually better than at the destination.
2. You can also withdraw cash from local ATMs.
3. Avoid exchanging currency at airports or hotels, as they offer the worst rates.
