My time in Telč was surprisingly relaxing. I remember spending a long time around the historic square, looking closely at the colorful buildings and their decorative details. Instead of rushing from one attraction to another, I enjoyed walking slowly and stopping whenever something caught my attention. The atmosphere felt intimate and peaceful, which made the town easy to appreciate. I also enjoyed exploring beyond the main square and seeing how quiet the surrounding streets were. Telč left me with a feeling that I could return several times and still enjoy the same simple pleasures of walking, photographing, and sitting somewhere pleasant. #repeatdestination #repeatdestination

When I traveled to Telč, I was drawn immediately to its beautiful historic architecture, but what stayed with me was the calm atmosphere. I walked around the main square, explored small streets, and spent time looking at the colorful facades from different angles. There was no need to rush because the town was enjoyable simply as a place to wander. I particularly liked the contrast between the detailed historic buildings and the peaceful surroundings. By the end of my visit, I felt that Telč was exactly the kind of destination that deserves a second visit, especially for travelers who enjoy slower, quieter European towns. #repeatdestination #repeatdestination

Stepping into the historic town square of Telč feels quite literally like walking onto a movie set designed by Renaissance masters. Tucked away in the southern Moravia region of the Czech Republic, this enchanting town is famous for its remarkably preserved market square, flanked by long rows of picturesque Gothic and Renaissance townhouses featuring colorful facades, ornate gables, and continuous arcades. Strolling quietly beneath the stone archways in the crisp morning air, with the mirrored waters of the surrounding fishponds reflecting the fairytale towers, was an utterly magical journey back in time. 💧✨ . 📅 What I experienced · The Zachariáš of Hradec Square: Spending hours admiring the breathtaking line of unique pastel-colored historic houses, each competing with the other in the beauty of their intricate Renaissance gables and decorations. · Telč Chateau: Exploring the magnificent 14th-century Gothic castle, which was later transformed into a stunning Renaissance residence, featuring breathtaking gilded stuccos, coffered ceilings, and historic halls. · Walking Around the Fishponds: Strolling along the grassy banks of the surrounding mirror-like ponds (Uhliska and Štěpnický) that completely encircle the historic center, offering the classic, postcard-perfect view of the town rising from the water. . 🏨 Where I stayed · I stayed in a charming, historic guesthouse right on the main square inside a centuries-old Renaissance building. Waking up early before anyone else was awake, stepping out onto the cobblestones, and watching the morning light hit the colorful gables was pure serenity. 🛏️☕ . 🍴 My culinary highlights · Czech traditional cuisine is hearty, comforting, and deeply satisfying. I savored a classic plate of *svíčková na smetaně* (tender beef tenderloin in a rich, creamy vegetable and cranberry sauce) accompanied by traditional bread dumplings, followed by a warm fruit-filled pastry and a crisp Czech Pilsner. 🥩🍺 . 📌 My tips for visiting · Stay Overnight: Most visitors only stop by Telč briefly on transit between Prague and Vienna. Staying overnight lets you experience the breathtaking square in absolute silence after the daytime tour buses leave. · Climb the St. James Tower: Make sure to climb the nearby church tower for a stunning, panoramic birds-eye view of the entire Renaissance square and the intricate network of surrounding ponds and rooftops. · Wear Comfortable Walking Shoes: The historic center and square are paved with traditional cobblestones, so leave slippery footwear behind and opt for sturdy walking shoes. 📸🎒 . #Telc #CzechRepublic #CzechTravel #VisitCzechia #TravelDeep #RenaissanceTown #FairytaleSquare #BucketList #ExploreCzechia #TravelDiaries

On our Czech road trip this time, we planned a day in Telč. We checked into Hotel Antoň first and left our car there. The hotel is right next to the town center, making it just a short walk to Telč Castle (Státní zámek Telč). Since it was a convenient stop along our route and we love visiting off-the-beaten-path towns to escape the tourist crowds, we were pleasantly surprised to find it even cozier than we had imagined. The town isn't large; spending about two to three hours walking around is just perfect. Both sides of the main square are lined with a row of colorful Renaissance buildings. Compared to the massive crowds in Prague, the vibe here is incredibly laid-back. Capturing the castle's reflection at dusk is absolutely stunning. Sitting by the square, chatting over a cup of coffee, and watching kids run around made me realize how truly refreshing it is to slow down the pace of travel. Next time you're on a road trip and finish visiting Český Krumlov (CK), I highly recommend heading over to Telč to take your time and experience this heartwarming little town.

Telč is a historic town in the Moravia region of the Czech Republic, situated on the southern edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, with a population of around 5,000. The historic square in the center of town forms a long, narrow triangle, standing as one of the best-preserved and most distinctive Renaissance squares in the country. Lining both sides of the square are colorful, arcaded townhouses built between the 16th and 17th centuries. Featuring both Renaissance and Baroque styles, these buildings serve as an outstanding example of Italian Renaissance architecture north of the Alps. The square and its surrounding areas are home to numerous historical buildings and monuments, including the Marian Column, the Margaret Fountain, the Town Hall, Telč Castle, the Church of the Holy Spirit, and the Church of St. James. Thanks to its well-preserved historic center, Telč was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

Telč is a small town in the southern Czech Republic. Historically, it served as a crucial rest stop on the trade route between the Kingdom of Bohemia and the Austrian Empire, resulting in a unique blend of both cultures. The town's buildings, constructed in Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles, have earned it a spot as a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you look closely at the houses surrounding the main square, you'll notice they are linked by a continuous arcade of arches, with their facades beautifully adorned with various intricate designs. At the center of the square stands a Historic Monument—the Marian Column. This plague column was erected to honor the Virgin Mary, expressing gratitude for her protection and symbolizing the end of the epidemic. Nearby, you'll find an ornately sculpted fountain, the Town Hall, and the town's prominent Church of the Name of Jesus. Additionally, the town is home to the Telč State Chateau, a stunning palace showcasing Italian Renaissance artistry. Just a short walk from the main square, a small street called Židovská leads you to the Ulický rybník pond, where it meets the Jihlavka River. The surrounding area offers breathtaking views, making it the perfect spot to sit back and relax. Here, you'll also find the Belpská footbridge—a gift from the town of Belp, Switzerland—which connects the town to its historic center.

Absolutely love the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna! One day is simply not enough to fully explore and appreciate its magnificent collections. The dining venue at the heart of the building is another highlight, with its spectacular domed ceiling and breathtaking architectural design.I must say, the Egyptian collection is exceptionally well displayed—arguably even better than what I experienced at the National Gallery in London. A truly wonderful museum that deserves much more than just a day to explore!
sary anny bongBeautiful place, gorgeous garden and beautiful atmosphere. Great coffee shop where you can have a break.
Lilith!Scanning the QR code at the entrance was quick and easy. The Belvedere Palace's art exhibition spans three floors, enough to easily fill a whole day. The park outside features fountains and sculptures depicting various figures from ancient Greek mythology. I sent photos and pictures of the sculptures to Doubao, and he explained them in detail.
