Best places to visit in Zhengzhou for Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day: 4 recommendations!!! — traveler post in Xinmi

Best places to visit in Zhengzhou for Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day: 4 recommendations!!!

4 hidden gems in Zhengzhou for Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day | One-stop experience: shows + night views + ancient cities + panoramic heights✨ Visiting Zhengzhou for the 8-day holiday? Want to avoid the crowds and chaotic itineraries? We have curated 4 distinct attractions perfect for couples, friends, or family trips. Enjoy shows by day and moon-viewing by night for the ultimate atmosphere. 🌾No. 1 Only Henan · Drama Fantasy City | Immersive historical drama (top pick for culture lovers) Mid-Autumn exclusive highlights: Hundreds of acres of sorghum fields turn into a sea of red, and the rammed-earth walls create an incredible atmosphere. At night, Mid-Autumn themed light shows are projected, and the 328-meter wall lights up with the phrase "Together under the same moon," making it a perfect spot for moon-viewing. ✅Highlights: 21 theaters and 3 main shows for an immersive, full-day journey through Central Plains history. "Li Family Village" is so moving you will need tissues, and "Fantasy City" uses light and shadow to depict Henan's thousand-year evolution. Watch shows during the day and take photos in the wheat fields at dusk for stunning autumn shots. 💡Travel tips: Holiday shows sell out fast. Be sure to book the three main shows online in advance. We recommend arriving at 10:00 AM and setting aside a full day. Shoot the wall light displays in the evening to avoid the midday sun.   🏮No. 2 Jianye Film Town | Republic of China-style night tour + molten iron flower show (a must for young people) Holiday exclusive events: Stroll through the Republic of China-era Dehua Street by day and watch the live-action show "Travel Through Dehua Street." At night, the evening tour begins with intangible cultural heritage molten iron flower shows and a ginkgo leaf shower, all under brilliant lights that transport you back to old Zhengzhou in an instant. ✅Highlights: Put on a qipao or suit for amazing photos. Immersive interactive performances are everywhere, including acrobatics, storytelling, and street spy dramas. The night session offers better value—enter in the evening and stay until late to see fireworks and the iron flower show light up the Mid-Autumn night sky. 💡Travel tips: Prioritize buying afternoon tickets to avoid daytime crowds. It gets busy during holidays, so grab a spot early for the iron flower show. Snacks in the park are reasonably priced, so no need to bring your own food.   🌃No. 3 Zhongyuan Tower | Panoramic moon-viewing and city views (top pick for couples & families) Extended hours until 10:30 PM for the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, leaving plenty of time for night viewing. Standing on the observation deck of this 388-meter all-steel tower, you can overlook the city lights of Zhengzhou with the full Mid-Autumn moon right above you—it is incredibly romantic. ✅Highlights: The 99th-floor observation deck features the popular "Walk in the Clouds" experience, where you can step onto a glass skywalk for thrills and great photos. Wait for the sunset in the evening, then watch the city lights come alive after dark—it is the perfect spot for moon-viewing on Mid-Autumn night. The tower also houses a panoramic gallery where you can check out Henan's scenery. 💡Travel tips: Enter after 5:00 PM to catch both the sunset and the night view. Student discounts are available. Take Metro Line 5 to get there directly and avoid traffic jams.   🏯No. 4 Qinwei Water City | Free ancient-style city (top pick for budget-friendly night tours) Highly recommended. Free admission—the ultimate value. This replica ancient water city is built along a river with small bridges and flowing water. The night lighting is stunning and perfect for taking photos in Hanfu, moon-viewing, or just taking a stroll. ✅Highlights: During the Mid-Autumn Festival, there are ancient-style parades, intangible cultural heritage markets, and continuous folk performances. You can take a night boat tour along the river, feeling the evening breeze while the water reflects the city lights. There is plenty of food inside, like authentic and affordable Xinmi rolled pancakes and acorn jelly. It is budget-friendly, so you can eat and explore all day without breaking the bank. 💡Travel tips: The night view is much better than the daytime, so we recommend arriving after 6:00 PM. There is ample parking, making it convenient for driving. It gets crowded during holidays, so traveling off-peak is more comfortable.   📝Holiday itinerary suggestions ▫️Cultural deep-dive: Only Henan (full day of shows) > Head to Film Town in the evening for the iron flower show ▫️Relaxed night tour: Explore Qinwei Water City during the day > Head to Zhongyuan Tower in the evening for moon-viewing and night views ▫️Friends' photo tour: Dress up and take photos at Film Town > Take photos of the city night view from the high-altitude tower ✨National Day travel tips 1. For popular attractions (Only Henan, Film Town), be sure to book tickets online in advance as there are no tickets available on-site. 2. It gets a bit chilly on Mid-Autumn nights, so bring a light jacket to stay warm while moon-viewing. 3. Prioritize taking the metro to city attractions, as traffic is heavy during the Golden Week. 4. If you want to see the night views, try to avoid the peak crowds on the 1st and 2nd for a better experience.

Cliffside Infinity Pool | Sleep in an 800m Fuxi Mountain Cliffside Cloud Retreat

Trip.com Original Hotel Guide | Fuxi Mountain Cliffside Hotel | 800m Danxia cliff, stay in a secret cliffside retreat in the clouds☁️ Located within the Fuxi Mountain Red Stone Forest Scenic Area, the hotel features a unique reverse floor design with the lobby on the top floor and elevators descending to the guest rooms and cliffside pool. Open your window to views of the Danxia canyon. The heated cliffside infinity pool is a viral hit. This is a top choice for short getaways around Zhengzhou, couple's travel photography, family trips, and weekend city escapes. It is a 1.5-hour drive from Zhengzhou. Follow this expert-tested guide for a seamless trip. 1. Essential travel & booking info 📍Address: Inside Fuxi Mountain Red Stone Forest Scenic Area, Xinmi, Zhengzhou ⏰Check-in: After 3:00 PM | Check-out: Before 12:00 PM 🚗Transportation: Driving is recommended. The hotel has its own parking lot with charging stations. If not driving, arrive at the scenic area entrance and transfer to the scenic area shuttle to reach the hotel. 🎫Guest perks: Guests enjoy convenient access to the Red Stone Forest Scenic Area and free use of the heated cliffside pool. 💡Booking tips: Popular cliff-view room types sell out quickly during holidays. It is recommended to book 3–7 days in advance. For cloud sea views, prioritize high-floor cliff-view rooms. The probability of seeing a cloud sea is highest on mornings after rain. 2. How to choose a room type ▪️Cliff-view King/Twin Room: 270° panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, facing the cliff canyon. A great value choice, perfect for photos. ▪️Cave Cliff-view Room: Retains the original rock walls, features a scenic bathtub, great ambiance, recommended for couples. ▪️Garden Family Room: Equipped with a children's tent, spacious, family-friendly. ▪️Cliff-view Suite: Large terrace, suitable for families, recommended if budget allows. Tip: Garden-view rooms do not have cliff canyon views. If you want cliff views, do not choose the garden-view room type. 3. Must-experience hotel highlights 1. 5th-floor heated cliffside infinity pool The pool extends out over the cliff and is heated 24 hours a day. Open 9:00 AM–10:00 PM. Sunset is the best time for photos, making it feel like you are floating above the canyon cloud sea. Free for guests; remember to bring your swimsuit. 2. Scenic elevator: The lobby is on the top floor, and the elevator descends, offering views of the canyon—a unique experience. 3. Small children's playground: Free to use, with slides and play equipment for young children to burn off energy. 4. Dine on the terrace of the Shanwei Restaurant while overlooking the mountains and canyons for a spectacular view. 4. Dining recommendations 🍳Breakfast is included in most packages, featuring simple Chinese and Western meals and local mountain snacks. 🍲Shanwei Restaurant specializes in Western Henan farm-style mountain vegetables. Signature dishes include stewed chicken with persimmon vinegar, farm-style braised pork, and alpine vegetables. Food delivery is difficult in the mountains, so it is best to have dinner at the hotel. During holidays, it is recommended to order in advance to reduce wait times. 5. Nearby attractions (2 days, 1 night reference) ✅Red Stone Forest Scenic Area: Cliff swing, glass skywalk, within walking distance from the hotel. ✅Cloud Pasture: Feed the deer, not far from the hotel, a must-visit for families. ✅Fuxi Grand Canyon: Canyon hiking, about a 10-minute drive. 6. Tips to avoid pitfalls 1. There is a large temperature difference between day and night on the mountain. Even in midsummer, the mountain breeze is cool in the morning and evening, so be sure to bring a light jacket. 2. The cloud sea after rain is stunning, but the mountain fog can be heavy. Check the weather forecast before you go. 3. The pool is crowded during peak tourist season. It is recommended to go in the morning to avoid the crowds for photos. 4. Water pressure in the mountains can be unstable at times. Try to avoid peak shower times in the evening. 5. The surrounding mountain roads are dim at night; it is not recommended to go out for a walk alone.

Complete Guide to Taking Kids to Zhengzhou Yinji Ice and Snow Hotel, Stay in a Fairy Tale Castle with Zero Disappointment — traveler post in Xinmi

Complete Guide to Taking Kids to Zhengzhou Yinji Ice and Snow Hotel, Stay in a Fairy Tale Castle with Zero Disappointment

Having tried more than a dozen family-friendly hotels around Zhengzhou, I was ultimately won over by Yinji Ice and Snow Hotel❄️ Compared to ordinary family inns with monotonous play options and crowded public areas in hot spring hotels, this place brings a Nordic fairy tale castle to the Central Plains. You can enjoy winter ice and snow freedom without leaving the province, with an all-in-one package for dining, accommodation, and entertainment. Parents can relax while kids have a whole day of fun. This detailed guide is a must-save for parents planning trips with children. First, let's compare family venues to help you choose precisely: ordinary city family hotels only have small play areas with low cost-effectiveness and frequent crowding; Yinji Animal Kingdom’s supporting hotels mostly focus on wild animal themes with weak ice and snow elements; Yinji Ice and Snow Hotel is the only ice and snow-themed castle hotel in Henan, featuring a heated ice and snow world, immersive themed rooms, and all-day family interactive shows. It suits children from toddlers to teenagers, making it the top choice for short weekend trips with kids. 🏰 Room Selection Guide (Stay as needed, no wasted money) All hotel rooms are custom fairy tale designs, and the experience varies greatly by room type, so don’t book blindly. 1. Castle View Room (Best value): Open the window to see the main castle building outside. It has complete basic amenities, suitable for a family of three for everyday stays, with a moderate budget. 2. Ice and Snow Themed Family Room: Equipped with bunk beds for kids, cartoon decorations, a small tent, and children’s toiletries. Kids will scream with joy as soon as they enter, perfect for photo ops. 3. Presidential Castle Suite: Extra-large space with a viewing terrace, ideal for families with multiple children or groups of friends traveling together, featuring a private lounge. Key point: Booking a room includes complimentary double tickets to the Ice and Snow World, and some packages also include admission to Yinji Animal Kingdom. Buying tickets separately is much more expensive, so prioritize package deals when booking. ❄️ Must-Play Ice and Snow Park Attractions in Order (No detours) Rent down jackets and snow boots upon entry; rental prices are transparent on-site, so avoid overpriced purchases outside. In the morning, visit the giant ice sculpture castle, ice and snow slides, and snow bumper cars, which have the shortest lines. Return to the hotel restaurant at noon to rest; the buffet has a dedicated kids’ dining area with fried chicken, desserts, noodle soup, fruits, and more, all tailored to Henan local tastes. The afternoon highlight: snow carousel, ice bicycles, and snowflake light shows. There are also scheduled visits from Santa Claus and fairy tale character stage plays, with staff handing out small gifts to enhance the festive atmosphere. In the evening, take a stroll in the hotel’s back garden; the European-style castle corridors are perfect for photos, no filter needed for stunning shots. ⚠️ Must-Read Tips for Moms to Avoid Pitfalls 1. The ice and snow park temperature is below minus ten degrees Celsius. Be sure to bring thick socks and waterproof gloves for kids to prevent frostbite. 2. Weekends and public holidays see a surge in visitors. Try to check in on Thursday or Friday to avoid crowds and double your enjoyment. 3. Don’t buy overpriced toys inside the park; the affordable supermarket on the commercial street downstairs offers better deals. 4. The hotel provides free baby cribs, bottle warmers, and mosquito repellent. Contact the front desk in advance to reserve. Many parents think of long-distance travel with kids, but a perfect fairy tale vacation spot is right at your doorstep. Here, you don’t have to endure long journeys or hop between multiple attractions; one hotel can cover your child’s entire weekend of happiness. Enjoy Animal Kingdom

It's highly entertaining and interactive, easily worth a whole day. The animals are adorable, and the shows are fantastic. Prices within the park are reasonable; the Pig Restaurant is the most affordable, while the Bird Restaurant is a bit pricey. There are other restaurants I didn't visit.

Enjoy International Resort

It combines a zoo and an amusement park. Suitable for children under 10. It has everything, but nothing is done exceptionally well. The price-performance ratio isn't high. At least not as good as Qingming Riverside Park or Wansui Mountain Martial Arts City. The food inside is a bit pricey.

Zhengzhou Enjoy Snow World

The ticket price is a bit expensive, and there aren't many things to do. The ice skating equipment is charged separately, the snacks are pricey, the place isn't very big, but there are performances, so it's alright. The penguin enclosure is very crowded and requires queuing; it's extremely cold inside (below zero), so you can rent down jackets. It's fun for kids, but not very cost-effective for adults.

Zhengzhou Enjoy Mythical World

Highly recommended! The Ice and Snow World Hotel is a very nice hotel. The rooms and bedding are very comfortable, which kids love and the elderly also enjoy. The surrounding environment is pleasant, quiet, and comfortable.

Fuxi Grand Canyon

I'm someone who never leaves reviews, but this time I have to give it a strong one. This experience was truly amazing! The facilities were beautifully designed, and the house was very comfortable, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of hot water, and no clogged drains. Even during a windy night, the cabin remained stable and quiet. The service was excellent; the staff was incredibly attentive from start to finish. They turned on the air conditioning before we arrived, and had our meals prepared in advance. Even after a long day, she still stood and chatted with us. The rooms were clean, hygienic, and bright. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend the chicken soup; ordering a day in advance allows them to have it freshly killed! I was blown away!! It wasn't fishy at all, and the chicken was plump and juicy. There was one minor incident: we encountered two unreasonable customers who kept causing trouble for the shop, demanding only a refund. I overheard them threatening to report us to the police and leave a bad review. I want to strongly condemn these kinds of unscrupulous customers and tell everyone not to believe their negative reviews!! 🙅 I will definitely bring my family and friends back~

Zhenwei Water City

Overall, it's not bad. Many facilities are still under construction. The area outside the scenic spot is a bit messy, there's no proper parking lot, and there are many small, scattered vendors at the entrance, which doesn't give a good impression. The area inside the scenic spot is quite nice, and it will be a great place to visit once everything is completed.

Fuxi Mountain Tourist Area

If you ask me which mountains around Zhengzhou are worth visiting, my first recommendation is Fuxi Mountain. Many people have a misconception about Fuxi Mountain, thinking it's all admission-only, but that's not true. Some attractions are free, and you can have a great time enjoying the natural scenery.

Enjoy Royal Hot Spring

Beautiful hot spring place! It’s my second time here. Lots of different activities to see and places to relax and have fun. Plus you can play with capybaras 😍

Yunshang Pasture

Our family of three went, bringing lots of carrots and cabbages to feed the deer and lambs. Besides feeding the animals, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous, great value for money, we'd definitely go again. 😘

Fuxi Mountain Lanya Bay Scenic Area

I visited outside of a holiday, so it was very quiet, and there were no queues for any of the rides. My favorite was the QQ Speed race – so fun and exciting, and it's 1.6km long! The scenery was beautiful, although there wasn't much water. There are trails and elevators for going up and down the mountain, which was super convenient for someone like me who doesn't want to climb. The staff were very helpful and patiently answered all my questions! I recommend buying a full-price ticket, which includes all rides except the Via Ferrata. Personally, I think the south route is a little easier than the north route. 🤏
