1.Wander Sacred Tokyo Temples

Visit Senso-ji in Asakusa—Tokyo's oldest temple features the bold Kaminarimon gate and incense-filled grounds; try drawing a fortune lot or tasting mochi from Nakamise stalls. Stroll Yanaka's peaceful streets—wooden homes and small shrines offer matcha amid old paths. Stop by Yanaka Ginza for retro snacks and cute cat-themed shops.
Sensō-ji
Miasmile:“A Record of My Romantic Winter Trip in January 2020~ It was during a special period, and although I was far from home and hadn't yet experienced it firsthand, I was already affected by the tense atmosphere back home, a time of widespread anxiety and uncertainty.
At that time, I visited Senso-ji Temple to pray for my family and friends, hoping everything would go smoothly and that the popularity of the temple would bring good fortune.
Besides finding many lovely souvenirs in Nakamise Shopping Street, the amulets at Senso-ji Temple are also quite exquisite and worth choosing carefully.
From Kaminarimon Gate to Hozomon Gate, and then to Senso-ji Temple, the five-story pagoda, and Asakusa Shrine, a thorough visit could easily take up most of a day. The temple is incredibly popular, bustling with people, all praying and worshipping with devotion. It's one of the must-see attractions in Tokyo.”Asakusa

Miasmile:“A record of my romantic winter trip in January 2020~ Next to the bustling Kannon-dori Street was the even more bustling Kaminarimon Gate; I still remember the sea of people, densely packed together.
The path leading from Kaminarimon Gate to Senso-ji Temple was lined with all sorts of small shops selling food and household goods. It was so congested that you could only slowly incline with the flow of people until you reached Senso-ji Temple, where the path finally opened up a bit.
Being located in the city center and requiring no entrance fee, it's incredibly popular with tourists. For any tourist, this is a must-visit spot!”Yanaka Ginza
ㅣreccoㅣ:“It is a well-preserved and historic old shopping street.
The street is full of cat elements (patterns, sculptures, food)
It is also called "Cat Street".”2.Stroll Tokyo's Trendy Streets

Explore Harajuku's Takeshita Street—browse youthful fashion shops and grab a crepe from street stands—then visit Omotesando Hills’ sleek boutiques. Stroll Koenji's narrow lanes for vintage finds and punk-inspired shops. Stop for a coffee in Harajuku's quieter backstreets or check out Koenji's retro bars.

3.Immerse in Vibrant Anime Culture

Check out Akihabara—its busy streets offer arcades, maid cafes, and anime stores with manga and rare collectibles. Browse classics at Mandarake Complex or explore multi-floor electronics shops for gadgets. Visit Ikebukuro's Otome Road for idol merchandise and Sunshine City's anime exhibits.

xhgu3638:“Ikebukuro is a very cost-effective place for shopping and playing.
[Fun] My child went to the Animate main store first. We spent more than two hours shopping for all kinds of animations, figurines, millet, etc. The surrounding dinners are also very cost-effective. For adults, you can go shopping in Tobu, Seibu and other shopping malls for a whole day. As long as you have enough energy, you can also go to Chinatown. This place is closer to the daily life of local people.
[Cost-effectiveness] Ikebukuro is very cost-effective. The Tokyu Hotel where I stayed is a chain and affordable. Ikebukuro has convenient transportation. It is very convenient to travel by rail transit. Combined with multi-day tickets, it will save a lot of transportation costs. It’s just that the subway station is too big, mixed with subways and trains. Please be sure to reserve time in advance to figure out the direction and train number. I bought the wrong ticket the first time. If you have the opportunity, you can go and see the urban rail transit.
The shopping price in Ikebukuro is also very affordable. In addition to Tobu and Seibu, there are many other stores.
[Scenery] The scenery of Ikebukuro is urban scenery. It is charming both during the day and at night. There are also internet-famous food restaurants in Ikebukuro, as well as various tourist attractions, such as Sunshine City, etc. I didn’t have the time to go there, but the online introductions say they are quite good.”Sunshine Sakae
_TI***T2:“well you will not missed going to these shopping streets for some shopping, there are many places for eating nice food there”4.Celebrate Spring's Cherry Blossoms

Enjoy spring at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden—cherry blossoms bloom over picnic areas—or Ueno Park, busy with flower-viewing crowds. Walk Meguro River for its blossom-lined path or Chidorigafuchi Park for nighttime views by the moat. Rent a boat at Chidorigafuchi or sip sake under Ueno's trees.

_TI***ic:“On a wisp of cloud in the afternoon, find a spot on the lawn with plenty of shade, spread your picnic blanket on the soft grass, and pull out a bunch of snacks you've prepared beforehand: sweet and sour dried fruit, savory crisps, and soft little cakes. Eat as you lie down and watch the clouds drift slowly across the sky, their shapes constantly changing—sometimes like soft sheep, sometimes like fluffy cotton candy. The wind rustles through the leaves, like someone whispering in your ear, and the wildflowers around you sway gently in the breeze. A few white butterflies fluttered around the flowers. I took out a chilled freshly squeezed juice from my backpack, took a sip and savored the sweet, refreshing taste of fresh fruit. The summer heat seemed to dissipate. In the distance, children chased each other on the lawn, their laughter echoing far and wide. There were no tourist attractions to rush to, no tasks to check off the list. Suddenly, I remembered the line, "The clouds are light and the breeze is gentle near midday; I stroll along the riverbank, following the flowers and willows." Even wasting time during summer vacation felt perfectly justified. I lay there watching the clouds drift by for an entire afternoon, letting the overflowing relaxation seep into my bones through the soft grass.”Ueno Park

住在地球上的地球人:“Ueno was a famous motorcycle street in the 1990s, with rows of motorcycles forming a city under the highway bridge. Today, there are only 5 or 6 left. Among them, KADOYA in Taito District has been in business for 90 years this year. This company only produces cycling clothes. The styles are relatively simple, but they are all handmade in Japan and are still very popular! As for Okachimachi, it goes without saying. However, now I only go to the left channel (from Ueno to Okachimachi) where there are two very unique denim stores. When I get to the end of the street, of course I will buy a lottery ticket from the Lucky Shop to try my luck!”5.Feel Shibuya's Electric Pulse

Experience Shibuya Crossing—cross with the crowd, photograph the Hachiko statue, or head to Shibuya SKY for a high-up view at sunset. Watch from Shibuya Tsutaya's second floor as lights brighten the streets. Explore Center Gai's lively shops or grab a drink at a nearby izakaya.

Miasmile:“A Record of My Romantic Winter Trip in January 2020 & My Kanto Hot Spring Trip in January 2025
Shibuya's All-Way Crossing is a famous landmark that tourists from all over the world want to witness!
When the traffic light turns green, pedestrians who were previously stationary on the sidewalks instantly begin to move from all directions, surging towards the center point, then immediately parting ways. Amidst the chaos, order is subtly present, as they calmly flow towards their respective opposite sides.
The dense crowds here create a particularly spectacular scene, attracting many tourists who come specifically to photograph this famous sight.
However, it seems that many large cities now have similar all-way crossings, and they no longer possess the same awe-inspiring grandeur as those I saw years ago.”Hachiko Statue
yccui:“The city has become even more heartwarming because of this statue. I was deeply moved when I first read the story, not to mention the movie. It's safe to say that this place makes everyone who stops by stay, and it becomes even more meaningful.”SHIBUYA SKY

Shibuya is lively yet orderly, vibrant yet avant-garde, flamboyant yet warm.
Everything you need for eating, clothing, accommodation, and transportation is readily available. Every trip to Shibuya to shop for designer brands and trendy labels is incredibly fulfilling and leaves me with many satisfied purchases!”6.Chase Tokyo's Skyline Heights

Ascend Tokyo Skytree—at 634 meters, it offers expansive city views, with Mount Fuji visible on clear days. Enjoy drinks at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, overlooking Tokyo Tower, or at Shinjuku's Park Hyatt for a broad glow. Visit Tokyo Tower at night; its deck includes a history exhibit.

Sometimes it’s really by luck due to the weather with clear skies. It’s truly breathtaking. 😍 Have you seen Mount Fuji before? Share some of your experiences and photos or video in this post. We would love to see you share 🥰”Roppongi Hills Mori Tower

Watch a kabuki play at Kabuki-za Theater in Ginza—actors in elaborate costumes and striking makeup bring 400-year-old stories of samurai and romance to life with live music and dance. Catch a single-act show with English earphones for an easy start; nearby tea shops offer a post-show break. It's Japan's bold, colorful take on theater—unmissable energy on stage.

暝逝:“A theater for watching Kabuki performances in Ginza, it has a history of 100 years and is close to Higashi-Ginza Station, with convenient transportation. Of course, this is just my personal opinion. I don’t recommend tourists to watch this without special love. Tourists don’t have enough understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture, and it’s really unnecessary to waste money. There are many performance videos on the Internet... If you visit, you should also take a look at the architecture, which is very distinctive. You can vaguely see the shadows of many famous Chinese and Japanese buildings, tile roofs, mountain closures, Japanese railings, castle colors, etc.”Ginza
华蓥.山人:“Whether or not Ginza Mizutani Bridge Park is worth visiting depends on individual preference. While it's a great option for those simply looking for a quick break and relaxation in Ginza, it might feel a bit monotonous if you're specifically visiting for sightseeing.
The park's appeal lies in its location as a rooftop park in the heart of Ginza. Its relatively quiet environment offers a respite from the bustling commercial district. Here, you can enjoy the breeze, a moment of tranquility, and a panoramic view of the surrounding cityscape.”8.Hunt Tokyo's Retail Treasures

Hunt for treasures across Tokyo—browse Shimokitazawa's narrow streets for vintage clothing and quirky finds or splurge in Ginza's polished luxury stores. Pick trendy and unique gear in Harajuku, chic pieces in Daikanyamacho, or artful items in Meguro's galleries. Grab crafts at Nakamise; Daikanyamacho's T-Site offers a sleek stop for books and coffee.

When I visited, there was a Tokyo FC match, and they were displaying promotional banners for Tokyo FC.”9.Savor Local Culinary Delights

Miasmile:“A Romantic Winter Trip in January 2020
On my first trip to Tokyo, I chose the Shinjuku area for its convenient transportation.
It truly is a major transportation hub, with various routes crisscrossing and converging at this station. Shinjuku Station has over a dozen exits, and if you don't pay attention to your directions, it's easy to waste an extra ten minutes or more walking unnecessarily.
The crowds are terrifying. Even I, someone who's experienced Shanghai's weekday rush hour subway stations, was a bit shocked by the level of congestion at Shinjuku Station!
The bus stop for Haneda Airport is also nearby, making transportation very convenient, but… I couldn't handle the noise of Shinjuku.
At night, it's truly a dazzling display of neon lights, incredibly lively, with Kabukicho constantly filled with music and vibrant energy.
The surrounding shopping malls are also numerous, with Odakyu Department Store, Takashimaya, and LUMINE EST all within walking distance.
Therefore, for first-time visitors who want convenient transportation and enjoy a lively atmosphere, Shinjuku is the perfect choice. However, for me, that first time was also the last; I've never stayed in Shinjuku since.”Ginza
