Henan Gongyuan was built in the 16th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1659) on the former site of Zhou Wangfu in the Ming Dynasty (now in the Longting area of Kaifeng City). More than 4 feet. Later, due to the accumulation of water all year round around the Gongyuan, the site of the courtyard was moved to the Shangshang Temple (now Henan University) in the northeast corner of Kaifeng City in the ninth year of Yongzheng (1731). The scale was expanded, and the number of houses increased to 11,866. In the 21st year of Daoguang (1841), the Yellow River flooded the city of Kaifeng. In order to reinforce the city wall and prevent floods from flooding the city, local materials were obtained, the houses of the Gongyuan were demolished, and bricks, tiles and materials were used as flood control materials. The following year, the tribute courtyard was rebuilt, the old houses were renovated, 10,009 houses were built, 5 wells were drilled, and the appearance was completely new. In 1912, a group of Henan benevolent sages represented by Lin Boxiang founded the Henan Preparatory School for Studying in Europe and America, which became one of the three major training bases for studying abroad in China at that time. After going through the stages of Zhongzhou University, Fifth Sun Yat-sen University, and Provincial Henan University, it was changed to Henan University in 1942 and became a comprehensive university with six colleges including liberal arts, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and law. It was a strong academic university at that time. , One of the famous universities at home and abroad. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, after the adjustment of the departments, the Agricultural College, Medical College, and Administration College of Henan University were independently set up as Henan Agricultural College, Henan Medical College, and Henan Political and Legal Management Cadre College. Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and other colleges and universities, the school headquarters changed its name to Henan Normal University. Later, through the stages of Kaifeng Normal University and Henan Normal University, the name of Henan University was restored in 1984. In 2000, Kaifeng Teachers College and Kaifeng Medical College were merged to form a new Henan University.
