The East Circle Gate was formed in the Ming Dynasty. During the Zhengde period, the Salt Transportation Department built three gate buildings on the east, south and north sides due to being alone. The East Circle Gate was called the East Circle Gate and a street formed to the east, becoming a place of salt merchants.
