Photos of Shoushan (Head Mountain)
Shoushan is named after its three peaks all of which are shaped like human heads. It is a natural barrier that stands in the northeast Yili Ancient City and was a battleground during many militaristic dynasties. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, during the "Great Military Success of Ningjin," Shoushan was the main field of battle. Shoushan's main peak still has the preserved beacon tower which was built during the Ming Dynasty. Shoushan has been designated as a national forest park. Shoushan Mountain is majestic. Whenever the clouds linger on the peaks, the “three crowns" scene is clearly visible.
