Griffin Castle in Besancon is a shrunken fortress and a military monument dating back to the 17th century. It is included in the UNESCO The World Heritage List and is part of the network of major sites in Vauban. The fortress is composed of buildings arranged around the central courtyard, including barracks and accommodation for the fortress commander, chapels, wells, reservoirs, and powder storage.
Nice fort
Fort Griffon, dating to the 16th century and one of the many forts present all around the city. From there we had a relatively nice view of the city and enjoyed the sunny weather.
