Ryuguji

The foundation stone was laid by Shangren Gu. It used to be called the Uki Mido when it was located on the seaside of Sodeminato. In 1222, a mermaid appeared in the sea, and divination was interpreted as an auspicious omen for the country's long-term prosperity. Burying the mermaid in the temple is the origin of changing the name of the temple to Longgung Temple. At this time, Lengquan Zhongnayan, an emissary sent by the imperial court, came here, so he took his surname and named it Lengquan Mountain. In 1480, Mongji, who became famous for establishing Zhengfeng Liange, came to stay here, and he was known for his poems.
