Lovely austere Church - worth the visit
Just off the centre of Jarnac is the lovely church of St. Pierre. Its entrance belies its internal dimensions which has soaring vaulted roofs and fluted columns. The crypt is worth the visit but the s...
very beautiful church
We were walking down a side road and came across this church. It was open so we spent a few minutes inside. The stained glass windows are beautiful and the crypt are very atmospheric.
Notably Roman Church
This Roman church is a remarkable crypt or was buried by the Lords of Jarnac. President François Mitterrand was baptized on May 6, 1917; his obsessions were celebrated on May 11, 1917.
The church has a great crypt with styles of various construction or restoration times.
There was a priorale in the eighth century, the current church was built in the twelfth century.

If the church of Jarnac is a remarkable monument of the city , it has a small jewelry : its roman crypte emocionant to paintings almost completely removed.
