Easily accessible by bike (10’ min bike ride from La Flotte), you should definitely go at sunrise/sunset for the best experience. It’s free and it is rarely crowded.

With good access by bike path the abbey is reminder of the medieval past when the monks established the salt pans and reclaimed (polderised) the land.
