Inside the dark cave during the day, lights are turned on only during the day for visitors, but there are some slippery places, so be careful if you have bad eyesight.     The volcanic ash deposited on the seabed becomes tuff when the Izu Peninsula repeated eruptions as a submarine volcano. Eventually, the Izu Peninsula rose, and this tuff was called "Izuishi" and was also used for the construction of Edo Castle (stone wall) using a ship. It is said that Muroiwado was used as a quarry until around 1955, and it was maintained for tourists. You can see the stratum of the quarry, the traces of the quarry. The promenade is also maintained, but I think it's better to have a flashlight even if there is lighting ...
