The volcanic ash deposited on the seabed becomes tuff when the Izu Peninsula repeated eruptions as a submarine volcano. Eventually, the Izu Peninsula rose, and this tuff was called "Izuishi" and was also used for the construction of Edo Castle (stone wall) using a ship. It is said that Muroiwado was used as a quarry until around 1955, and it was maintained for tourists. You can see the stratum of the quarry, the traces of the quarry.
