Rankot Vihara

Langkot Tower is located in the north of the ancient city of Polonnaruvo. It is the largest tower in the ancient city and the fourth largest tower in Sri Lanka. It is dark red in color and made of clay. It is shaped like a clock. It has spires and towers. It is 55 meters in diameter and was built in the 12th century during the Nissan Kamala King. Around the pagoda are fragmented Buddha statues and Buddha-like worship buildings.

The Lancote Tower is the largest in Polonnaruvo and the fourth largest in Sri Lanka. The Randwick Tower is dark red,56.4 meters high and 55 meters in diameter. It is a huge brick bell-shaped pagoda built by King Nissan Kamala in the 12th century, presumably to imitate the Ruvanvilli Saya Tower of Anuradpur. The main building material of the dome is clay, covered with a layer of brick and mortar. Lancott means "golden spire" and is said to have been covered with gold in parts of the previous spire.

The Lancote Tower is the largest tower we saw during our visit to Polonnaruvo, and the driver guide said the huge tower is also very famous in Sri Lanka, which can also be ranked among the highest in height. The pedestal of the pagoda is large, and the height is said to be higher than it was when it was first built, but it fell down a bit later, but it can still be appreciated.

This is the largest Shelita in Polonnaruy, so feel sure to visit, the main building material of the dome is clay, covered with a layer of brick and mortar. Although the color looks darker, but I heard that the top of the tower was golden before, I want to come to be more brilliant, I can only regret that I can't see it now.
