Westgate Park

It’s great to see the lake pink with algae and minerals, and when there’s no rain after the warm weather. Parking is very limited, but if you can't find a parking space, leave the park and turn left at the roundabout, you can park in a nearby industrial area, where there is a path that runs from the old railway line.

It was exciting to visit this pink lake but disappointing it wasn’t pink anymore. I only saw the pink lake a month later! Anyway, it was near the highway. If you are there, please drop by to see if the lake has turned pink. We visited here in mid-June 2019.

Seaweeds growing on salt crusts at the bottom of the lake produce red substances.
