Small corner space rather than a park
It's a very small corner space opposite of Lumine and Hotel Metropolitan. I showed it to my friends and explained about the origin of 'Ikebukuro' as well as 'Seikei gakuen'.
I hadn't been there nearly four years due to Covid. As I stayed at Hotel Metropolitan, I passed by it everyday, thinking of the past history. But nobody seemed to pay attention to it.
When I stopped by the park with my friend, we noticed a plague of “Seikei Gakuen Hassho-no-chi (The origin of Seikei Gakuen).” She was very pleased to see it, as her daughter had been to Seikei Gakue...
A small park on the sidewalk next to Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro
Original Text
There was a small park on the sidewalk right next to the Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro where we were staying. That is this former Ikebukuro Historic Park. It's a park that is planted on the sidewalk, but there was a large stone monument written as "Ikebukuro-related pond".
It's a small park at the intersection next to the Hotel Metropolitan.
Original Text
This park was located at a small intersection next to Hotel Metropolitan near the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. It's called a park, but it's really a corner beside the intersection. In the park, there is a pond with a small waterfall, which seems to represent the pond from the place name Ikebukuro. There was also a stone monument and an explanation board that said "Ikebukuro Pond related to the place name".
