This magnificent and peculiar building complex complements the blue Danube water and has become a scene of Vienna. The building complex has a total area of 190,000 square meters and consists of 4 main buildings. In the center stands a 5-story cylindrical international conference building, 56 meters high. The 6 "Y"-shaped buildings are connected to form 3 tower-shaped office buildings, which are symmetrically arranged around the conference building in a constellation. The buildings vary in height between 45 and 120 meters, giving them a sense of flexibility and variety. In the conference building, there are a total of 9 conference halls, surrounded by large and small lounges, through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, you can overlook the surrounding scenery. The building complex can accommodate 4,000 people for offices and 1,600 people for meetings at the same time. There are no simultaneous interpretation rooms for 9 languages including English, French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian and Arabic, electronic computing centers, storage rooms, archives, printing rooms, restaurants, cafes, banks, shops and other ancillary facilities. There are radial driveways between the buildings, as well as two 3-story car parks for 2,500 cars. The building complex was designed by the famous Austrian architect Johann Steinberg. After completion, it was leased to the United Nations by the Austrian government for a period of 99 years, with a nominal annual rent. After the completion of the new building, the United Nations agencies that were previously scattered in Vienna are concentrated here. Every year, more than 20,000 foreign representatives come to Vienna to participate in various international conferences. Their food and lodging alone can provide the city with more than 10 million shillings in revenue every year. At present, Vienna has jumped to the fifth place among the world's major conference cities.
The Vienna International Conference Center is also a very large venue for some large conferences, and the space inside the entire International Center is also very large, which can accommodate thousands of people, and the related supporting facilities are also very abundant.
The houses in Vienna are all antique, all in a very old European style. I didn’t expect that there is such a modern building here. It feels like a financial center. It’s very avant-garde.
Vienna International Center is a very modern building. It is composed of several semicircular high-rise buildings. Located in the city center, it is intersected with the Danube River. Standing under the international center, I feel that the sky is blue and there are few people. The greening rate is also very high.
Every road to the Vienna International Center is a specialty and feels like a cultural heritage.
