Changle Gate

This is the east gate commonly known by locals, and naturally the east of Xi'an city wall. The east gate is not lively with the south gate and the north gate, and there is not much traffic, so you can come and watch it carefully. Changlemen is commonly known as the East Gate, one of the four gates of Xi'an with Wengcheng. Changlemen was the East Gate of Xi'an during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The city gate tower was towering and tall, and the city was wide, plus the moat of ten meters wide and deep. It was an insurmountable fortress in the Cold War era. Today, Changlemen is one of the entrances for tourists to climb Xi'an city walls, and the surrounding parks have trails, sports fields, fitness equipment, which is a good place for citizens and tourists to relax and entertain.

It is located exactly between two big parts of ancient City Wall of Xi'an. Changle Gate is important historical mark. In fact it has three gates, which now became door less and two of them serve as exit entrance for vehicles going in or out ancient city and one is adapted for pedestrians.

Changlemen is the east gate of Xi'an, historical allusion: Li Zicheng Rebellion from the east gate into Xi'an at the end of the Ming Dynasty. Li Zicheng saw the "Changlemen" hanging on the city gate and said to the soldiers around him: "If the emperor Changle, the people will suffer." The soldiers listened to this, and the crowd was angry. The fire destroyed the building until the Qing Dynasty was rebuilt...

Changlemen is the east gate, Ming Chongxu 16 years (1643), Li Zicheng army attacked Xi'an when burned Changlemen main building. Li Zicheng saw the "Changle Gate" hanging on the city gate, and said to the soldiers around him, "If the emperor Changle, the people will suffer!" The soldiers heard this, the people were angry, and the fire burned the city building.
