The Xiamen Botanical Garden was established in 1960, covering an area of 4.93 square kilometers, and is the first botanical garden in Fujian Province. Xiamen Botanical Garden, to me, feels like a small island; it's really vast. However, I really like the infrastructure of the park. Entering from the south gate, after walking a bit, there's a mountain elevator, which is such a energy saver. What would be a half-day hike is done in half an hour. Once you're up, there's a sightseeing bus that goes up and down the mountain. You can get off at a station to look around, then take the sightseeing bus to the next stop.
