One-day event for high school and university calculus instructors! This year we'll continue the theme of AI. This one-day workshop is an opportunity for high school and university calculus instructors from across Atlantic Canada to come together and engage in discussions regarding curriculum covered in high school and university. This year, our focus will be on assessing student learning in the age of artificial intelligence We will have a plenary speaker, panel & small group discussions, and activities. 2025 Convocation Weekend - Graduating Students Accommodations CONGRATULATIONS!! CONVOCATION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Accommodations are available for graduating students during Convocation weekend on a first-come, first serve basis. All rooms are singles in either Bigelow or Bennett House. If Bigelow and Bennett are sold out, Edwards will be used as an overflow residence. All rooms must be pre-paid by registering and paying online using the following form. Keys can be picked up at the entrance of Bigelow House on Friday, May 9th from 9:00am to 9:00pm or Saturday, May 10th from 9am- 3pm. All other check-in times will be located between 9am - 9pm at Windsor Hall. If you are unable to check-in at these designated times, please make alternative arrangements with the Accommodations Office by calling 506-364-2247 or emailing reservations@mta.ca. Please be advised that any damages or removal of University property from your room will result in you being charged, fined or paying restitution for these losses. Accommodation & Cancellation Policy Cancellations for accommodations made less than 72 hours prior to arrival will incur the equivalent of one night's accommodations as a cancellation charge. Jeff White, Chignecto Naturalist Club president and avid naturalist, will lead a guided walk in the Fort Beausejour area. Meet in the Fort parking area for 1:30 to get organized and introduced and started. This low impact hike will be about 5 kms on dirt roads and old trails, some growing up with shrubs. Be ready for any weather (including wind!), for biting bugs, for scraping through alders, and for hills, puddles and some wet and uneven ground. On this little hike you may be surprised at the diverse habitats we will find: open fields (mowed and unmowed), young woodlands, marshes and bogs, little ponds, and human horticulture. Depending upon our interests, we may take it slow to enjoy the plant life, bird life, long-range views, and so on. There should be some spectacular sights and even surprises. Do you enjoy spending time with children? Are you looking for leadership experience, or to gain real working experience? This program is for you! We are looking for counsellors in training to help with our children's programs this summer. Our C.I.T program combines hands-on volunteering with a weekly session focused on leadership, real-world skills, and learning what it takes to run programs. You will get the chance to meet other C.I.T’s, do team building activities, and learn directly from the experienced staff. You can request to assist at any of our children's programs, and we’ll do our best to match you with your interests. At the end of the summer, you’ll receive a certificate of completion and a pizza party!
