Hamamatsu Homestays

I started visiting Okura hotel in Hamamatsu since March 2010 and this hotel and its wonderful staff has always been consistent in delivering exceptionally wonderful service. The hotel is located strategically next to Hamamatsu train station which makes it very convenient to get to. Act City Mall is located next to the hotel and it’s a convenient place to shop. There’s also many restaurants and bars which are located not more then 10 minutes walk from the hotel. If you get a view at one of the higher floors, you will get an awesome view of Hamamatsu city. There are many restaurants in the hotel as well as the complex where the hotel is located. The hotel is decorated with music themes and I like how the elevator has Chopin’s music notes on it. Exceptionally classy and beautiful hotel!

The Japanese pay more attention to privacy, so most of the time there will be no one at the reception, and they are all in a small room next to it, so that guests will not be too embarrassed to come in and out. When necessary, you can ring the call bell on the table, similar to the bartender bell in a bar. The room is basic and well-equipped. There is a refrigerator, hair dryer, microwave oven, kettle and two hangers. The TV is not convenient for foreigners to watch. Most of the programs are charged, 1,000 yen a day. Since the price is very cheap, basically 50% lower than the market price, breakfast is not provided, but there are many snack bars and convenience stores at the door, which is very convenient. There are also vending machines in the lobby to buy drinks and beer, which are slightly more expensive than outside. You can book a taxi for free if you have a phone, but you can't use it if you don't speak Japanese. The smoking place needs to be improved, it really does not conform to the hygienic image of Japan. The smoking place is much dirtier than other places, and the smoke exhaust machine is still broken, hope it can be improved.

There is a convenience store on the first floor near the station. It is also a short walk to downtown and there is no problem with the location. The response of the employees is also good impression. There is a feeling of cleanliness. We were able to upgrade our room this time and spend more comfortably. This room was the west end of the north side, so I can take a picture of Enshu Railway from the window of the room (the hotel is right next to the far iron elevated line), so I think it is a happy room for railroad fans. It is troublesome to do it only by the machine next to the front desk. If you make the name etc. fill in at the front desk, it is more efficient to advance to the liquidation by the flow.
