Hotel Mumon

Hotel has good heating so perfect for winter stay. Nice fireplace area and nice holding area before stepping out into the cold. The hotel is down a hill from the main thoroughfare. A bit slippery downhill when it becomes icy. Run like a hotel so maybe a bit cold compared to a bed and breakfast. Onsen bath seems a bit dirty with things floating in there compared to other hotels we stayed at. We needed to move to another hotel which is 2km away and the guy offered to drive us there for 2000 yen! Just 1 luggage each and no skis. So on the whole just cold. Breakfast was 1000 yen seemed simple so we skipped and opted to eat in town instead. Probably won't stay there again.

Keiko was a lovely host. She was super friendly and welcoming to the area. She was available for any questions we had and was also able to provide a freshly cooked breakfast/dinner at a very small cost. There was free parking behind the accommodation which was great as we had our own entry/exit after hours. The room was spacious, but while the heating wasn't very strong, the bedding was extremely warm and comfortable. Would be more than happy to stay here again any time we're in the area!

I had a fantastic stay at Alto Piano. The owner and his mum provided exceptional service and cooked a 4 course western meal for me every night. The food was delicious. Owner also dropped me

To put it simply, it is a traditional Japanese hotel renovated, and the proprietress speaks English very well. The room only has a toilet and no personal bathroom. There is a public bathhouse and hot spring. It is advertised as no dilution and no reheating cycle. I stayed in a single Western-style room, which was very clean. However, don't turn on the exhaust fan in the toilet when it's very cold. It will suck in the cold air from the corridor, making it useless to turn on the heater. The refrigerator in the room is very bright, only the Wifi signal is not full, it is not slow but not very stable. The second stop of the free shuttle bus is named after this hotel, but it only takes 5 minutes to walk from the station.

Guesthouse Angoso

First of all, it is far from Niigata Station than I thought. It was a residential area nearby, so I was able to spend quietly. Niigata is a city, but it is surprisingly quiet city. It is easy to think that the building is old, the wall is weak, and there is noise next to it, but the day I stayed was quiet and I rested slowly. The owner is an elderly couple. When I checked in, the story of my grandfather was a little long. I also taught how to use a washing machine or microwave (of course I don't know how to do it). I explained it to a small place. But it was good. It is cheap and the room is warm and kind, and I want to use it if I come to Niigata yet.

I stayed for sleeping in May. It was old but comfortable and the owner was also nice and good. It may not be suitable for a trip seeking healing or hospitality, but it was beautiful and I was satisfied. I think it's better to ski. It was about 30 steps from the dry room to the lift platform. but here you can pet It is necessary to be careful because it is not possible at present.

It was very good for me! The lady at the front desk was a Chinese person who was fluent in Japanese and was very kind! I look forward to working with you again next time.

温泉良かったです。料理も良かった。部屋も清潔。でも、夕食時の日本酒「2合」とメニューにあったのに、実際には300mlでした。わかってたら別の日本酒にしてたのに。でも、それだけです。お世話になりました。
