Absolutely worth the money. Free breakfast is great I love the muffins and waffles. They also offer free bed sheets and towels. 25-minute walk to tourist attractions by the river.

Great hotel. Staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable. The location is central, just be mindful of the junkies outside. Not all will agree but there are too many pot heads in the smoking area that give this skunk smell outside. And I didn't appreciate that we couldn't access the balcony, apparently to 'protect' residents from the noise(??). Now this is weird, allowing ***** everywhere but not travellers chatting on balconies. Then do not advertise the balconies maybe?

Even after checking in at 3pm, my bed wasn't ready.
They give you key cards to open your lockers, but they are not used for opening your Capsule. Your Capsule can be simply opened by pushing the doors, which feels quite unsafe considering it could be opened by anyone else.
Moreover, the upper and lower bunk numbers are distinguished by signs showing the shape of the doors (rounded or squared), which could be easily mistaken. I had somebody else lying in my Capsule once I opened it. This should be improved by the hostel. At least they can make it clear by using arrows writing up and down.

Although it is a quad room, it is very quiet and clean. It really surprised me. I stayed for four nights and the girls in the same room were very nice. The basement is a restaurant and entertainment room. If you want to be quiet, you can study and work in the ”study room” on the same floor. You can make a lot of good friends there.
The transportation is also very convenient, right in the city center.
Finally, the front desk staff and all the staff can speak English, haha, 🤗 this is very important!

It is also well located within the tourists destinations . Cozy coffee corner and reading area are available if one wants some quiet moments.

Enjoyed my stay
Breakfast has, you can choose, but you need to pay. You can make your own breakfast in the kitchen yourself. There is a big supermarket nearby. Behind the train station, to Montreal, or Quebec is very convenient.
Even though we stayed for consecutive nights, the room was cleaned properly, and the bed was made after check-out. The toilet was also well-cleaned, so we were able to use it comfortably.

VVincentJust a few minutes from the Upper Promenade, with a lovely casual feeling and comfortable rooms. Shared toilet but always very clean and never a wait. Front desk staff were really friendly. Enjoyed the shared coffee, kettle, microwave and fridge at reception.
An enjoyable 3 night stay. Recommended.

SSelinda NgaiThey fulfilled majority of our requests, like providing a baby crib and an electric kettle but they placed to a wrong room. Also, the rooms are not close to each other, one was on G/F and the other room was on 1/F. The receptionist was nice but he could not speak English and told us no baby crib and no kettle! He checked the system there was an empty room next next to room 18, but it was still occupied. I doubt the accuracy of the hotel reservation system!
We finally kept the original two rooms on G/F and 1/F. We did not use the baby crib as it was on the 1/F and we didn't want to move or ask service man to move (it seems that limited manpower in the hotel).
Anyway, the view was very good and we enjoyed the sunrise early in the morning.
Finally, I need to point out that the location of the power plugs inside the room was poor. They provided us a kettle but it was not user friendly with the power source. You can see the picture below.
However, the food in the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed a dinner and a breakfast there. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Thank you.
MMarley KThis hotel is a little gem in a super area of downtown Montreal. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, with high-quality sheets and a good selection of comfortable pillows. A kitchenette made it very easy to pick up salads or snacks to refrigerate or reheat leftovers from a restaurant the night before. Breakfast is included and there’s a good selection of fruit, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, deli meats and yogurt. Cereals as well. While there were scrambled eggs, I tried them twice but not cooked to my taste. Having said that, there were fresh pastries and bagels, so a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon with some fruit served very well.
This hotel is very walkable to Notre Dame, Place des Arts and several theatres and museums. Lots of great restaurants to suit anyone’s tastes. The subway is literally a 3-minute walk and in 10 minutes, you can be at the Jean Talon Market, which has a plethora of foods and drinks to suit anyone’s taste palate.
I’d highly recommend Hotel and Spa Carre St. Denis and will definitely be back next time I visit Montreal.
GGuest UserPros: The rooms are big, clean, comfortable, and have everything you need.
The breakfast is quite abundant and varied; it would only need some boiled eggs, cheese, or another source of protein to be perfect.
The reception staff are friendly and polite.
Cons:
The pet fee is ridiculously high ($40, and they also charge taxes on top of that, which makes no sense). Total = $46. It is the highest pet fee I paid during my trip from Montreal to Calgary. For example, in Ontario, Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan, many motels don’t even charge a pet fee. What some other places do is charge a refundable deposit in case of damages, rather than a non-refundable fee for no particular reason. For this reason, I would not return.
Noise: You can hear absolutely everything from the adjacent rooms. In fact, a couple was arguing quite loudly and aggressively during my stay, including shouting, which affected my sense of safety. Staff members who were nearby at the time, should be vigilant and intervene in this kind of situation.
GGuest UserI had an outstanding stay at this hotel and would gladly return. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Check-in was quick, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained.
We came to ski at Le Massif, Mont-Sainte-Anne, and Stoneham, and stayed for three nights. The location was very convenient — about 20 minutes from Le Massif and 15 minutes from Mont-Sainte-Anne. The price was very affordable, and the whole place was extremely clean.
There’s no breakfast included, but the hotel has a large shared kitchen that is fully equipped: lots of pots and pans, plates, utensils, and even cooking oil, salt, pepper, and some snacks — all free. There are plenty of dining tables, and there’s also a pool table where we could relax in the evenings.
Overall, this hotel was comfortable, convenient, and a great value. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay here again.

Very Good
GGuest UserI booked this place after reading the reviews and it scored very high. You have to go up two flights of stairs with a password to check in. There is no elevator. The stairs are very steep and narrow. It is not recommended if you have large and heavy luggage.
The location of the hotel is good, the room is relatively large, and the view outside the window is good. But it is really tiring to walk up two flights of stairs with luggage. And parking is not convenient. The price/performance ratio is not high. The chandelier bulb in the room is broken and flickers. There is a small spot on the bed sheets. There were blood stains. I regret booking this hotel after reading other people's reviews. I don't understand why it scored so high.
Because it is a very old house, the floor of the room is very uneven and tilts 10 degrees to one side. The bed is placed on the side and it feels like sleeping on a small slope. I will feel dizzy after standing for a long time because I stand on an inclined place for a long time. I am very doubtful. Is there a problem with the structure of the house? The bathroom door is old and difficult to open and close.
Oontheroad2001The room did not have much evaluation, and the quality of service needed to be written. The boss is Chinese and very good. The front desk is uneven. The big man on Monday night is the only one who is reliable. The worst thing is the uncle on Tuesday night, who has no truth in his mouth, and is raped and stupid. It is a miracle that such a miracle can find a job.
