Dana Social Living is a welcoming social stay in the heart of Marrakech's Medina, created by Locanda Collective to bring together comfort, community, and authentic Moroccan charm. Set in a beautifully restored traditional house, it offers cozy private rooms with clean, well-maintained shared bathrooms, inviting common areas, and a rooftop where guests can relax and connect. Whether you're a traveler, digital nomad, or long-stay guest, our friendly team is always ready to help you feel at home and make the most of your time in Marrakech. The building itself carries the charm of the Arset Lmellak neighborhood — a historic area known for its calm streets and rare car access inside the Medina. During the restoration, original architectural elements were preserved and paired with modern touches, creating a space that feels both authentic and fresh. One of the property’s most interesting features is how it balances openness and intimacy: communal lounges and shared spaces encourage connection, while quiet corners and soft lighting offer moments of calm after the Medina’s vibrant energy. The atmosphere at Dana Social Living is warm, relaxed, and effortlessly social. Guests often describe it as a place where conversations start naturally — over breakfast, on the rooftop, or while planning the day’s adventures. It’s a home for curious travelers, digital nomads, and anyone who appreciates a blend of culture, comfort, and community. Our team is the heart of the experience. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about hospitality, they bring the Locanda spirit to life every day. From the welcoming hosts at reception to the housekeeping team who care for the space with pride, everyone at Dana Social Living is dedicated to making guests feel seen, supported, and at ease. They know the Medina inside out and are always ready with recommendations, directions, or simply a warm conversation. Dana Social Living isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to belong, shaped by history, guided by purpose, and brought to life by the people who care for it.

Riad Dar Massai

Place is nice and clean, staff was also very helpful. However, do note that the address is not the actual address of the riad. I am travelling alone, and only booked this riad because it was right beside where my friends are staying. I only found out when I arrive that it is a 4-5mins walk from the actual address stated on trip.com. Which was very misleading and they should update the correct address. Kudos to the staff who was very nice to walk me out many times, as I prefer to have someone walk me in the early mornings, and at night. Provided water, and also very helpful and friendly. Another issue I had was that I arranged an airport transport to pick me from the airport, and was told the driver will be carrying the hotel sign with my name. I could not find the driver and panicked, again because I was travelling alone. I had to call the riad to realise that the driver was not carrying the correct sign, but another name similar to Riad Dar Massai, and did not have my name on it. Which was honestly impossible for me to recognise which is my driver. The sign should be made clear to guest first time in Marrakesh to just show ”RIAD DAR MASSAI + name of guest”. Finally, the aircon was great, but blankets were really thin. I know they provided extra blankets but I did not use it. So I am very cold at night. Apart from the few drawbacks, it is overall a beautifully designed Riad, I actually really loved the interior architecture, and the rooms are clean and spacious, showers are hot and nice.

Riad Mama

Stayed at Riad Mama for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. The riad itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated, but what truly made the stay exceptional were the people and their outstanding service. Dunya went above and beyond, helping me with my large luggage to the lobby and keeping my room spotless at all times. Farid prepared Moroccan tea for me on my first night on the rooftop and generously shared great restaurant recommendations. Nour, the director, and her sister greeted me with warm smiles every time they saw me and provided truly fantastic service. They offered warm, genuine hospitality and consistently went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. I genuinely felt like a welcomed guest rather than a tourist. When I unfortunately had food poisoning on my second day and didn’t leave my room at all, they noticed and checked on me to make sure I was okay. That level of care meant so much to me. Lastly, the riad itself is literally just 2–4 minutes away from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Medina, which made getting around incredibly easy. I would definitely come back again without hesitation. Thank you Riad Mama! I can’t recommend Riad Mama enough this is hospitality at its finest. The rooftop view facing Koutoubia mosque.

Cute riad, and clean, but that's about all I can say. The room was tiny and stiflingly hot; the air conditioning couldn't even cope with such a small space. The bathroom/toilet doors were inconvenient and really just for show. All the bedding was covered in terrible pilling – it wasn't just how it looked, it felt like sleeping on a grater, very uncomfortable and unpleasant, and the mattress was hard. The breakfast was a joke: a mini flatbread, a small pancake, and a tiny biscuit. They poured a sip of juice into the bottom of a glass, served a 200ml teapot (meant for two) and all this with a cheerful 'enjoy!' What is there to enjoy? Couldn't they at least offer one egg? We eat breakfast at the hotel not to take thoughtful pictures over a biscuit, but so we don't have to run around the city an hour later looking for a proper meal. And the first thing they did when we arrived was try to upsell us on extra services (hammam, massage) – they didn't even let us go to our room, they sat us down and said, 'choose!'

The interior is just as beautiful and colorful as pictured. I really appreciated the mineral water and the powerful hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was also incredibly delicious. However, the area around the riad isn't the safest, and there are scammers lingering around offering directions. If you're a woman traveling alone, I'd advise being cautious when moving around. It's also quite a distance to various tourist attractions. I also had a massage, which was excellent. Every staff member was very attentive and helpful.

This was the best hotel/Riad (7 in total) we stayed at during our trip. The location was perfect - in a busy and lively area of the old city, but not too difficult to find if your driver drops you off by the correct entrance. We were greeted warmly by the manager and her team, who made sure that we had everything that was needed to make our stay special. The Riad is beautiful and cozy with seating in small little coves here and there. Our room was beautifully decorated - simple, but stylish and super clean. We were always greeted with smiles that were genuine and not forced, and felt that the team here really enjoyed their jobs and took pride in showing the best that Marrakesh has to offer. We had a spectacular breakfast on the roof terrace. It was more than the simple Moroccan breakfast and we really appreciated the efforts they made to keep everyone warm with blankets. This Riad will now be placed on our “highly recommend and must return to” list. Thank you for a wonderful stay and amazing hospitality.

We had the pleasure of staying at Riad Jibril during our visit to Marrakech, and what a delightful experience it was! Our host, Iheb, truly deserves the title of a legend. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, he made our stay memorable. Whilr it may not be a 5-star hotel, it provided a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that exceeded our expectations. The riad itself, with its traditional architecture, was clean and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the serene terrace, a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. One evening, we indulged in sheesha on the terrace, a delightful experience that only cost us around 70 MAD. We also had the pleasure of dining on the terrace, where we enjoyed delicious tagines at a very reasonable price of 60 MAD each. The chef's culinary skills were truly impressive. The breakfast served each morning was traditional and homely too! What made our stay truly special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Iheb and the staff. We arrived as guests but left feeling like friends. We were even befriended by the two adorable resident kittens, Sofia, the long-haired tabby, and Leena, the ginger kitten. Their presence added an extra touch of charm to our stay. The location of Riad Jibril was perfect, and the camel in front of the money exchange served as an excellent landmark. The riad was on the opposite alleyway, second door, making it easy to find. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Kasbah, near Zeitun Cafe, a favorite spot of ours to visit at night. The lantern-lit terrace at the cafe provided majestic views that made our evenings even more memorable.

The check-in process was good for customer service, but my room experience was terrible. I booked a superior suite, but I ended up with a regular room. I was informed that the person who was supposed to be in the room decided to stay another day. When I checked online, I found that the room was still available for reservation. The next day, when I asked to switch to my reserved room, I was told that it was booked again and that I should check back in line. Surprisingly, the same room was still available for reservation. I feel like they were scamming people by booking a suite at a higher price and then giving them a cheaper room. The night crew member was very friendly and informed me that the manager was traveling. However, I don’t understand who is responsible for managing the website and ensuring that the correct room is posted when it’s available. I tried to contact them via phone and email, but nothing happened. I hope that Trip guide and the hotel will take responsibility for their actions and make sure that this doesn’t happen to other customers. I could have booked a different suite that had a similar aesthetic to what I was looking for, but I couldn’t even cancel the reservation. There should be a system in place for booking a specific room, and if the room is not available, the customer should receive an automatic refund. It’s their job to figure out when the room is available and what type of room it is. Additionally, the room had a bunch of knickknacks, and the table, wall, and bottom of the table were all chipped, cracked.
