This hostel truly sets the bar high! The facilities are still top-notch, far superior to Swan Hostel where I stayed a couple of days ago (I was genuinely surprised Swan Hostel didn't have an elevator). Even though it's the off-season and there are fewer guests, the common areas still had a good number of people. Playing Werewolf at night really brought out that great hostel social vibe. Being a chain, their management is quite mature and well-established, and the staff are all very enthusiastic and attentive. That guy, Tuotuo, was a great conversationalist; it was really interesting to hear him talk about Changsha. All in all, if you're looking for a hostel in Changsha, I highly recommend 'Backpackers' Ten Years'—it's reliable!
The check-in experience was very good, it was clean and sanitary, and the guy at the front desk was very patient with his guidance. I suggest you call if you can't find it.
The hostel was great. The bed was comfortable in a 4 female only dorm. I was able to use the washing machine on the roof, the shower had shampoo and showed gel, toilet paper, normal toilet, not squat, AC, and the guy at the reception desk was very kind. He speaks enough English and if you need to ask something specific just use Google translate. Amazing location, very close to the center and super cheap. Lots of mosquitoes though so use bug spray to sleep.

”Changsha Diary”
On the first day at the Swan Journey Youth Hostel in Changsha, I was amazed by this ”greenhouse” as soon as I arrived. The sun shone through the leaves and the glass, shining on the table, on the piano keys, and also in my heart. The fatigue on the road was swept away. I held the guitar and sang. The kitten came to rub my legs. Teddy suddenly cried and gave me a start.
I asked the clerk. One of the three bosses is a designer. This is all designed by him. Another boss used to play in a band. In the evening, the boss heard from the clerk that there was a tenant who sang well. So after I was picked up from the subway station by the handsome clerk in the heavy rain (he fell twice on the way there and once on the way back), I sat in the glass room. The lights were turned off. Only a table lamp illuminated his figure holding the guitar. The long sound came out of the Marshall. The heavy rain outside merged with him. I stood there for a long time with my body wet. Later, the boss stopped and looked back and saw me.
”Hello”
”Can you play? Come and play?”
I felt the monster in my shoes, ”I'll change into slippers first.”
After I changed, I hid in the bathroom and wiped the sweat on my hands and face with paper carefully before going to find him. He asked me to take the guitar and sing several songs. I closed my eyes and sang with abandon. I could feel that he was listening very seriously, even if I couldn't see, I could feel it. Then he carefully counted my strengths and weaknesses, like my big brother (although I don't have a big brother), he spoke with passion and danced, and I responded excitedly...
Time passed quickly with such a coming and going, and we said goodbye to each other and went back to rest.
First, I will conclude this is the best hostel I have ever stayed in, so I stayed for nearly half a month!
[The overall environment] is very new and clean. The boss himself has learned a little design, and the whole reveals a simple beauty.
[Facilities] There are actually two separate toilets and showers in a room. This is very luxurious and worth extra points!
[Hygiene] Very clean, the picture you see, the hall and the room are very bright, basically spotless, and there is no unpleasant smell.
[Bed and air conditioning] The mattress is very soft to sleep, not cheap bedding, skin-friendly, and does not need to set the bed cover yourself, which is very convenient! The air conditioner is also very powerful, but the sound can be muted and does not disturb the rest. This is higher than many five-star standards!
[Entertainment facilities] The billiard table is still relatively new, I play two games here every day, comfortable! In addition. There is actually a free switch on the second floor, you dare to think about it! ! !
[Eat] The boss is very enthusiastic. On the first day, he recommended a lot of restaurants to us. The key is to pick us up and not step on thunder! Especially the shell box lunch, yyds! ! I ate for a week!
[Play] The boss is also more serious, and he took the drone to play with us. Our friends went to a small canyon with Danxia landform. This place is more interesting than the Xiaodongjiang I went to behind, because it has not been developed, it is more primitive!
[Other] The boss also sang high songs with us and introduced me to ”back shake” (or slow shake, I can't remember the specifics), the song is very interesting, but not as much as one-tenth of the boss's personal charm. His goal this year seems to be to go skydiving or paragliding, I wish him success!
[Summary] Danxia Chibi reflects the sun, Zhangzhou seems to be a dream! Mugen Youth Hostel, it is worth living!

Excellent hostel! Convenient location, close to the central bus station and bus stops, cable car within walking distance, grocery stores nearby. The hostel is very clean and cozy, has everything you need, beds with curtains, universal sockets in sufficient quantity. Downstairs at the reception there is a kettle and a cooler with water. Very nice responsive administrator! Helped with any questions, wrote how to get to the forest park, and described the routes through the park
I had originally planned to stay in Fenghuang for only a short time, but by chance I ended up staying at the Xiangzishen Youth Hostel, which lasted for over ten days. The hostess was like family, preparing breakfast each morning and even offering complimentary herbal tea with ingredients tailored to your needs. Fenghuang was still quite hot in late August, so I spent the day wandering the alleys, drinking tea like water. When I returned home exhausted from exploring in the evenings, she was still there, chatting about the scenery of Xiangxi and Fenghuang's past, and the hours flew by. While the hostel's hardware was a bit dated, the facilities were excellent, and the location was perfect, making it convenient to everything. Xiangxi is a wonderful place, and Fenghuang is even more beautiful than I had imagined. I'm grateful to her for allowing me to quietly appreciate all this beauty.

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

MM299482****The service was excellent; they gave us a free room upgrade and even helped plan our travel itinerary. We were also able to get discounted cable car tickets through them. The room was very clean, and breakfast was good. Right downstairs, there's a bustling night market with lots of delicious food, and recently, many popular influencer restaurants have opened up. It's also super close to the East Gate scenic area, just a 5-minute walk away.

AAnonymous UserI booked the mini room for one person. The room is really nice and big, the only problem I had was the fact that the bathroom's floor got flooded every time I had to use the shower, which made the bathroom unusable after showering, which was quite annoying. The hotel is super close to the forest entrance, (10 minute walk), bus station (5 minute walk), and numerous restaurants/grocery stores. The owner was also very nice and booked the ticket for the glass bridge and grand canyon for me. I recommend booking this ticket in advance otherwise you may not be able to go there since only some tickets get sold daily.

MM519582****I've been to Tongguan Kiln twice before, and this was my first stay. I chose Yueshang Inn after a field trip. The inn is in a great location, convenient for food, accommodation, and entertainment. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the front desk lady and the handsome owner are both very friendly and welcoming. It was a great stay! I'll be back next time!

GGuest UserRight from the lobby, you'll find a water dispenser and a comfortable spot to eat any takeout. They often play some pleasant music, and everyone seems very courteous.
Moving on to the sleeping quarters, the beds are significantly larger than typical university dorm beds. What's more, unlike some hotels, the rooms are entirely free of smoke or other stale odors; instead, they have a pleasant, fresh scent. There are also plenty of charging outlets. A thoughtful touch in the corridors are projected lights that conveniently guide you in the right direction. My only minor gripe: if you're on the top bunk, the ladder is quite hard and can be a bit uncomfortable on the feet.
The washrooms are also impressive. They stock quality, branded toiletries, and the hairdryer station features a generously sized mirror. You'll never run out of toilet paper – the stall I used had three rolls! I appreciated that they provide both Western-style and squat toilets, which is a nice option often missing in standard hotels. Plus, the exhaust fans are constantly running, ensuring good ventilation.
Absolutely delighted! I truly believe this is the best hostel I've ever stayed at.
GGuest UserThere is a parking lot, the front desk service is enthusiastic, and the facilities and equipment are gradually being upgraded. Other floors have been transformed into Lavande Hotel. I don’t know if I will get this price next time.
GGuest UserI was genuinely surprised to get Tianmen Mountain views at this price point! The sight of the cable cars passing right by the window was truly captivating. Transportation was also incredibly convenient. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Zhangjiajie!
