Hotel Ristorante Toscana

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights enjoying full pension and we can say we were all right but we thought better, the owners of the building are very friendly and available, however there are certainly points to improve The kitchen is discreet but nothing special and it happened at breakfast that we did not have even coffee cookies and always have to ask someone even for the pen to be able to point out what to choose in the menu. The thing that disappointed us most of all was that the evening before we left had agreed with the master that we would not have enjoyed Sunday lunch because we wanted to leave before and she told us that she would obviously have it. When we made the final account we did not immediately realize that this was not done so we returned and told the receptionist that in a rather shocking way she gave us 20 euros as if she did. I want to state that the hotel costs more than € 300 per day and I challenge anyone to have a lunch in their restaurant with €10. This last note makes me quit to return to this hotel in the future
Grand Hotel Alassio Beach & Spa Resort - the Leading Hotels of the World

This waterfront hotel in the seaside town of Alassio is extremely well-staffed and equipped, it also has a very generously furnished spa/health therapy centre. However The main entrance to the hotel has two small (hotel name)brass plaques, one on either side of the relatively small revolving door ……..both obscured by large plants. The external carpet is embroidered with ‘Riviera Delle Palme Talassio Collection’ and neither the hidden plaques nor the carpet are good indicators as to where the hotel was hiding. For a stressed first time visitor arriving by car and having spent many hours in badly managed roadwork queues, the lack of signs and clear indications were not conducive to a smooth arrival. Children had been allowed to use the main spa pool in the afternoon (mornings they’re allowed in) bringing with them a cacophony of noise and a traffic jam at the most popular water jets thereby making the area into a large, unnecessary and unwanted kindergarten. The masseuse managed to arrive unacceptably late for a pre-booked massage by which time I had returned to base ………….. the head concierge was commendable for his apologies and efforts to reschedule but tardiness at this level is not professional nor indicative of the hotel’s standards. A decent enough stay but there are plenty of other hotels at this level to choose from in future.
