Faena Hotel Buenos Aires

Puerto Madero Buenos Aires|1.63km from Parroquia of the Inmaculada Concepcion
What a Disappointment the Faena Hotel is. NOT a 5 star hotel it once was. The bed in our room was more than 10 years over due for a change. The most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in a “5 star hotel” . The staff is rude if you are not Argentinian, typical for of a hotel that pays the staff practically nothing and a place no one tips. The bartender at the library was totally focused on taking to the ****** at the bar and totally ignored us sitting next to this loud obnoxious couple. The pool was freezing cold. Why can’t they heat the pool to take the chill off so you can enjoy the pool. The wait staff at the pool was slow to deliver the drinks or food at the pool and often confused the orders or never returned to deliver the correct order. The man at the checkin Juan Pablo is joke. He gave wrong information about the hotels offerings for the valentines dinners. I found out the evening of valentines that there was a Tango Show with dinner that included meat choices that the other restaurants were not offering. The Tango show and dinner was offered for $270 USD per person. I was offered $135 USD pp at the door or 48,000 Argentinian pesos which equals $270 pp. it had to do with the blue dollar. While I was negotiating with the man at the entrance to the Tango show I saw food coming from the Mercado restaurant through the lobby long lobby filled with people uncovered, how disgusting. We declined to eat or see the show. Do yourself a favor and stay at the holiday inn and save yourself a lot of money and aggravation and most of all disappoint in once was a fabulous hotel. They tell you that the hotel is full as well as the restaurants. That’s a lie, nothing at Faena is full except the arrogance they dish out.

725 Continental Hotel

725 Continental Hotel

Buenos Aires City Center Buenos Aires|1.31km from Parroquia of the Inmaculada Concepcion
725 Continental Hotel is in a central position, short walk one way to Plaza de la Republica, with Obelisco, and a short walk the other way to Plaza de Mayo.A stop for the open top bus tours is on the other side of the street. Hailing a taxi is easy on the roadside but reception ordered a taxi without charge. The hotel has no car park, but there is paid-parking nearby. This art deco building is in a street of such buildings making for a scenic cityscape, both from the street and roof top terrace, where there is a bar and small pool. Sunset drinks were enjoyed on the roof. Room and ensuite was large and everywhere was clean. Reception directed us to 2 double rooms before finding the twin we had booked, which was an unwanted inconvenience after a long journey. There was a paid mini bar but no kettle in the room. View was across to the buildings the other side of the street. Air conditioning worked well. The lifts are slow and the wait was tiresome, but fortunately we could use the stairs from our room on a lower floor. Breakfast is served on the first floor, and there is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor, which we did not use. There are tango shows and many restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was adequate with omelettes cooked to order. Window tables have picturesque street views. Facilities give the five star rating, but 725 Continental Hotel is more comfortable than luxurious. Location and service on offer made it good value.

The hotel is located in the center of Buenos Aires, very close to 7th September Street and the Obelisk. Clean and tidy, warm service. Had dinner three times at the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, and it felt good! The football in the hotel lobby is amazing 👍🏻

WASHING ATENTION! We arrived at 5am after traveling, we had booked from the previous day and asked if we could delay check out to be able to rest more, when we made the booking they told us if you pay a extra, but once there, We were told that it was impossible, we had to leave the room at 11am and that the Lord of the Reception was not responsible for what they told us at the time of making the reservation. When we arrived, they had cancelled our reservation because “thinking” that we were not arrived, so it had to do again. Another detail, there was a demonstration at 9th Avenue July, people camping, never warned us of that event. When we were in, a gentleman approached us to ask for money, put his feet on the door to not be able to close it and pressed us to give him money, the gentleman of the Reception did nothing, said nothing, moved not. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable.

Located in the San Telmo district, opposite the Intercontinental Hotel. There are many cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area, making it very convenient. Supermarkets are within walking distance, Obelisco and Florida Street are also within walking distance. The metro station is just a short walk away. Very convenient location. The rooms are very modern, large and easy to use. There is also a work desk, ideal for business. The cospa is very expensive and highly recommended. Breakfast is expensive, so it is recommended to eat at a nearby cafe.

San Telmo
I assign a relatively low rating for the overall experience due to two factors: 1. A very poor breakfast and 2. A front desk experience that was less than satisfactory, mainly because two out of three of the staff were young and inexperienced—and most of the issues I experienced were due to a single, young lady, who would benefit from additional customer training. On 1, the quality of items was unsatisfactory—the orange juice was not a juice at all but some sugary, orange flavored drink; the cut fruit was mushy pieces of melon and orange, and kiwis (on one day). The scrambled egg was tough. The yogurt was full of sweeteners and artificial flavors. The cake and danishes were stale. On 2, I asked for a receipt for the hotel bill, which I had paid in cash and was told that I could have an email copy later but would have to wait to get a printed receipt at checkout as the system was difficult to work with. In order to ensure that I had a receipt for a cash payment I agreed to wait. With time running out for an international flight to catch, I waited patiently for some time (close to ten minutes) as the desk lady took the time to serve other customers—asking about tours and the like. Finally, I asked about the receipt again and was given a rude answer. I asked for the manager and was told that none was available, and I would just have to wait if I needed a hard copy of my receipt. Eventually, a receipt was printed for me but it was just an invoice and I had to then ask for another iteration showing a cash payment.

Breakfast is general, the food variety is not very rich; standard room is American standard 1.3 m double bed, there is a kettle, the room is large, suitable for children. The hotel has an underground parking garage. Hotel location is good, there is a bus and subway station at the entrance, there is a Carrefour supermarket nearby, it is convenient to buy daily necessities.

The location is excellent, the staff are aware, spacious rooms, good breakfast buffet and a pleasant swimming pool on the terrace. The only thing to point is the preservation of the towers and the bathroom lounge, I stayed here twice, the second was better.
